Great night out
Aug 2015
Decided to go to Le Trot at the last minute started at 19:00 what a great decision. Fantastic restaurant Marcel proust were we had a great meal while overlooking the race track and the racing.
Some great thing for children to do also good family night out.

lovely night out
Jul 2015 • Couples
our party was two couples and we went to the evening trot racing, lovely place great panoramic restaurant and overall the place was lovely and clean, family friendly and the cost of entry was 4 euro totally unlike british race tracks not a single boorish drunk in sight all night. This is a real must do and see if you are in the area, and also as the minimum bet is only 2Euro it can be a very reasonable night on the wallet as well

Great fun with kids in evening shows
Jul 2014 • Family
I took my kids for their first race. Very "bon enfant" atmosphere, too bad the choice of music and animation made it a little too "cheap".
Nice races not more, but it was a families event so all's ok. Definitely a change from the sophisticated, high class atmosphere I remember from my childhood visits there, but nice in another way.
Bring your own food. It;s both expensive and not-so-hygienic in the booths there from what I saw.

Really good fun, if you like that sort of thing
Aug 2013 • Friends
I hadn't been to a race course since a visit to Longchamps some 30 years ago and I'd quite forgotten what it was like. The Cabourg hippodrome hosts national events so there is a lot of quality action on the card on race nights. We attended an evening of ten or so races, all of which were trotters except for one (which was the main event of the night, with the highest value purse). Facilities for the motley crowd are crude but adequate - there are more refined settings available inside but access is limited. The ticket windows are plentiful and it took only a few minutes between each race to place a wager. I could not figure out how to place wagers on races in advance and perhaps one can't. Perhaps the only serious drawback of the entire evening was the lack of a "trou normand" which I desperately wanted upon arrival after having wolfed down a large dinner in order to be on time for the first event! The bar sold only beer (to the plebs at least)!
