Visited on a Thursday night during September. The casino itself was not particularly busy, but not quiet either. The building itself is worth the visit alone though! The interior decor is stunning.

All the staff from the bar staff and security to the croupiers and cashiers were all friendly and helpful and even explained how some of the more complex machines and games worked. The games on offer ranged from a wide selection of fruit (slot) machines and video roulette to poker and table games.

The bar had a good range of drinks including cocktails all at reasonable prices.

Make sure to bring your ID if you want to go onto the gaming floor, but if you only want to use the bar or restaurant this isn't necessary. Dress code is casual.

The Casino de Cabourg is a very imposing building with lots going on. However, my wife and I also found it a very relaxing spot for a drink and to be able to take in the sea views. The bar offers a very good range of drinks, with promt service. Nice place to stop - worth a visit

This casino makes for a nice diversion while visiting the area on business. it's clean and fairly casual by European standards. Few table games, several slots.

spent an evening there last week-end, it takes ages to get a drink served, they have no notion of customer service (the staff looks like locals with no proper training to high profile players), in a word to avoid at any cost if you're planning a relaxed gambling evening.

Limited machines, sad ambience, mainly for retired residents. Don't forget you ID to enter. Would not recommend for an afternoon of fun.

Normandy: In the wake of Marcel Proust

By Zoran SLAVIĆ

I went from a very unusual Lion morning. So a little bit exciting, because last night I became aware that I was in the middle region of Beaujolais. Wine, of course. We set off, luckily the bus. First, the small town in Normandy, Deauville. Resorts that I have met with Goran Tribuson, Croatian storyteller, and his work, the novel "Rus sian Roulette", for which I worked dramatization and that led me to the Tribuson. Now I intend to Cabourg.
Place in Normandy. Not far from Deauville, which is trendy known. Because casinos. Actually, I decided to live regard the place was Marcel Proust in his quest for the lost time produced in Baalbek. And so it permanently marked.
I just say I decided to go there, while my friends were convinced to ride into the realm of Calvados. What they really do not because it was inaccurate Cabourg , alias Baalbek, located in the district of Calvados. Namespace associated with apple brandy. It is not any different objectives this time stripped unexpected enthusiasm. Because, so it must have been after the adventure began by being lost in Lyon beautiful Tatiana, a native of Avignon. Or is it still, perhaps, left us.
However, this trip to Normandy took place in the sign of women's writing: Cabourg , we were greeted by nearly Margaret Duras. The writer of my favorite film "Last Year at Marienbad ". In fact, in this town it was in the afterword of his novel, "Lover", which has definitely become a star of world literature.
The novel is in Lyons gave me to read Tatiana, especially underlining the sentence: "Very early in my life it has become too late" - because I went to Normandy. Exactly said Margaret Duras, who did not wait for us to Cabourg, at "Grand", which, however, stood a large painting of a young Proust. In this town, where he is an enduring icon. While Ms. Duras who barely remembers. Although the nineties of the last century, much closer. Her room at the "Roches Noires" in which she lived, not advertised as a hotel "Grand" in which he lived Proust.
Normandy. Beaches. Sand. Windy. The landscape forever marked "the longest day"! While I walk along the "Promenade Marcel Proust," in Cabourg, with the English Channel arriving waves. The sea is wavy. And grayish. The sun breaks through the yellow-gray horizon. From a distance, from Deauville, I see three figures: Odette, Albertine and Swann'. I hear someone play "Moderato cantabile" chansonier Arsen Dedic. Tatyana The music reminded me that I had to go back to Tatjana book that I borrowed, "Lover", Magaret Duras!

This place is very excellent for organising a small (100-150 people) conference. The lecture room has nice atmosphere. Poster session can't be too big ,because of space restrictions. The food was delicious and very well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

I'm not one of those who are fascinated about roulette, card games or slot-machines. No, I think it is a waste of money, just as well as a waste of time. I was just wondering to see the Casino de Cabourg and the nearby Grand Hotel because the fact that they are typical of the French Belle Epoque style buildings. And I must say that I liked what I saw.
