Accessible by metro this is a most unusual museum. Previously a swimming pool. Beautiful Art Deco architecture, sculptures surround the pool, changing rooms utilised to display artworks, many original features unchanged. Restaurant onsite. Well worth visiting.

In Roubaix in Northern France, tucked away from the main street can be found the Andre Diligent Art and Industry Museum, made possible by the bringing together of two buildings, an old weaving mill and an iconic swimming pool, built (according to our guide) by an employer who wished to ensure the wellbeing of his workers by providing them with... Enjoying a city break in Lille? Just 20 mins away on the Metro (Plus 10 min walk) in Roubaix is the art gallery in a converted swimming pool - La Piscine. Paintings and sculptures mainly from 1880's onwards. Lovely cafe and garden too.

Made a return visit to this beautiful gallery. What a brilliant concept. The collection had been increased and improved. Exhibits all artistically displayed. The cafe and shop had been extended. You must visit if you are staying in Lille.

This is a one-of-a-kind museum of fine arts, with regular high quality special exhibitions. Lots of XIXth century art, of lesser known artists, but a great ensemble in a beautiful setting.

A sensitively restore architectural gem housing an interesting collection of textiles and art works. Lovely tea rooms, also art deco in style. I would have liked to see a little more on the history of the piscine itself, perhaps more photographs and a little bit on Roubaix's textile industry in the past. Otherwise, an interesting and unique place to visit.

This is an exceptional, unique museum and art gallery, well worth the trip on the metro or tram. A beautiful building with some great works of art.Only negative was that we found the audio guide a bit confusing to start with.

I reviewed Musée La Piscine a few years ago, this is my third visit. It's the building that I come to see and I also enjoy the textiles and costumes. As I was on a day trip to Lille I didn't have time to look around the museum. I was charged for the exhibitions which I didn't want to see,... More

Fabulous architecture; paintings of every genre to delight; fabrics; ceramics and then a restaurant with great food. It was just wonderful to spend some hours there. For those who appreciate art in its many forms this La Piscine is not to be missed. I would suggest you get there early and if eating, get to the dining room early too;... More
