The star of the museum is undoubtedly the swimming pool itself which has really been brilliantly restore. In terms of the art on show there are a huge number of paintings, for the most part by people I've never heard of but there are some great ceramics from picasso. We ate in the restaurant which was nice but gave us... More

Surprisingly large display of paintings and sculptures. Except for Picasso's, not strong on big names, but well worth seeing. Very interesting, stunning outlay. Entrance fee, moderate, but no discount for seniors. A bit hidden away, but still in the center of town.

I came across this museum after seeing Roubaix in a movie. The building is gorgeous and I couldn't get enough of it. You could do this as a day trip from Paris to Lille, the train is only one hour and it's easy to take the metro to Roubaix and walk to the museum. This was a favorite part of... More

Explored the Musee La Piscine here when we went to nearby Lille for a weekend. Imagine a public swimming pool converted into a classy museum. The imaginative conversion was a triumph seeing the individual cubicles transformed into thoughtful nooks displaying lovely French sculptures or paintings. The spectacular of them all are on the pool promenade where one could admire the... More

Stunning! A venue that has to be seen to be believed. Beautifully restored and re-imagined space that combines, light, water and art into one sensory experience. Sculptures, paintings and temporary exhibitions that could be thought provoking but never off-putting. With easy access from Lille via tram, something not to be missed

Based in an old swimming pool the main hall is dominated by coloured windows at both ends - quite fantastic, what a use for a building that would have been demolished in the UK.. You do need to go on a sunny day to see it at its best. The collection is varied and interesting, pots, paintings, sculptures and all... More

Very beautiful place: old city piscine now redesigned as a museum. Several paintings and sculputres added by the light that pass through the vitral window, give this place a wonderful athmosphere. I really recomend the visit.

Starting gun set and was going to visit on Monday - But beware that it is closed! Arrived on Tuesday, our programmed transfer day - and wished we could spend more time here - opens at 10:30 - but check locally! There are several areas. A very interesting warehouse frontage. The much talked about swimming pool area - surrounded by... More

We love art but can't do too much at a time - get overwhelmed by it all. This place was perfect - part setting, part art. An astonishing vista and then we looked and lots of fairly modern pieces - a lot of lovely stuff - then one of the watchers / curators spent some time explaining one of the... More
