Been a few times and blown away by the church but crypt was something else. Great insight into history and Roman influence. Ticket for museum also better value.

My wife can't walk past a church without going inside. Notre Dame de Boulogne is so good that we always climb the hill to the old town to visit. Lovely calming feeling inside. Good little gift shop and we always try to buy our postcards there.

Lots of up hill walking but it's worth it to see the old town and this basilica. The walls around it are nice to walk too.

The interior of the Basilica is rather dilapidated with quite a few cracks visible the rather slender Corinthian columns can't have helped. The highlight is the crypt which has been restored to a high standard with a variety of religious paraphernalia on display. The crypt has links to " Jose de San Martin " who was a rather important figure... More

This is such a beautiful building. The murals are outstanding beneath the dome. It is quite extraordinary. This is a must if you are in Boulogne.

There was on display a fascinating timeline showing the history of Christianity, other religions, dynasties, rulers, society, art and science, up to the present. This was obviously not part of the fabric of the building, but it was very interesting as an educational journey, being easy to follow and to dip into. The scale of the building is of course... Amazing gigantic neo classical 19th century structure. Free admission and a must-see when visiting the town. Avoid the beggars at the entrance and don't get locked in when the two nice ladies lock up.

As we neared to the old town of Boulogne-sur-mer, we saw the tower of Notre Dame de Boulogne stand out. After parking, we headed for this church. What I didn’t anticipate is that they have 4 churches in 1. The current one is in the main church. There is also a chapel on the side for when there aren’t many... More

The inside of this basilica is lovely but we especially liked the garden next door. It must be the most fragrant garden we have been in. There aren't many flowers but there are a lot of herbs and medicinal plants and a few small trees. We wish we had had longer just to sit and soak in all the lovely... More
