So much to see, you will need to allow plenty of time. This month (June 2013) there is an extra carriage exhibition from Versailles. It's a great opportunity to see something very unusual and interesting.

Ventured into here i will admit because it was warm! Beautiful place, and interesting range of exhibits. At the moment there is the carriages exhibition from versaille, which is just stunning. A few of the paintings I found hung at levels and angles that picked...More

Loved the architecture, the size (it's small enough to do easily in a half-day) and the surprisingly large display of art work. Parking can be a challenge during the tourist season, even though there is a good parking lot right next to the abbaye. This...More

I only spent a couple of hours at the Musee de Beaux-Arts, but it reminded me that there has been a lot of great art created around Europe by people who most of us don't know. Much of the permanent collection doesn't interest me, but...More

The fine arts museum is located in the Saint Vaats Abbey, which indeed has more the looks of a nobleman's palace than that of a monastery. This first impression is confirmed inside. It is a true pleasure to browse through the sumptuous galleries, to walk...More

It's a fine, fine-arts museum, situated in the abbey with interesting paintings and other exhibits. The cathedral at other end of the complex is also well worth a visit.

We saw the special exhibition of carriages & collections from the Chateau de Versailles. An excellent exhibition regardless of whether one has already been to Versailles. Apart from the special exhibition, the museum has several worthwhile collections housed in a building of interest.

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
is there an entrance fee, and what is it like for disabled visitors for example will we be allowed to bring a small mobility scooter in

There is an entrance fee (€7/€4), although the museum is free on the first Sunday of each month. Access to the ground floor is okay but I'm not sure about the upper floor.
