This excellent guided tour begins at the Hotel de Ville (in the Place des Heros) where the Tourist Centre is conveniently located (and where you can buy the tickets). We were lucky enough to be in time for an English tour conducted by a French/Australian...More

We toured Les Boves today and our guide was fabulous. He was entertaining, knowledgeable and took great care to ensure everyone got the most out of their visit. The tunnels and their history are fascinating and it was great to see this hidden world. Unfortunately...More

We were probably unlucky in that our guide was giving his first tour and he seemed to focus more on the french than the english (despite it being a dual language tour). We were also unlucky as the french within our group were really quite...More

So after climbing the belfry and seeing the beautiful town hall rooms it made sense that I should see it from below ground too. At the beginning of the tour the guide offered to translate into english for me which I was very grateful for....More

The boves of the title are part of an underground network below the town which stretches for around 19km. The bit you walk around dates from nearly 1000 years ago, albeit heavily modified since, particularly during WW1, when it was used by allied troops to...More

This was a very interesting 40 minutes tour of the tunnels under the city of Arras. They were first constructed to extract stone for buildings, then as storage for grains for the markets. In the World Wars they served as bunkers for British Troops and...More

If you are you Arras, it's worth to visit but if you cannot, you don' t miss anything. The guided tour is really short and the explanations are very general. Time of the visit doen't correspond to real time. 3:30 instead of 3:00

An underground world is hiding beneath the place des Héros, in the center of Arras. The tour provides the historical background to the site. Its history starts as a stone quarry. When buildings arose on top of the site, excavations were stopped. The place was...More

We had time to fill in before going to the Wellington tunnels so decided to look around the quarry beneath the town hall. There's a pass that gives you access to the belfry as well and is a real bargain. Our guide was excellent, giving...More

Beautiful underground. I would recommend combing the ticket with the Beffroi and the Carriere Wellington. Guided tour which lasts around 45-60 minutes. Guide was fluent in English and polite. Interesting history of Arras on how the tunnels have been used over the centuries.
