Lucky to have served alongside the US military, important therefore that I paid my respects here. Beautifully maintained, the main chapel building is stunning. There is a guestbook with sanitizer so you can leave a comment in the book too. There is also a leaflet with details about the cemetery too-it is also available online. Make sure you view it from the viewpoint above the cemetery if you can-you can do this if you are also planning to visit The Memorial of the Fighting French. So glad I went. Never forgotten.

Glad we went

Beautiful cemetery and worth the detour. Have been to Paris several times but only recently heard of this memorial. Although we had a Zone 3 ticket, our train connection experience wasn’t as easy as some others have noted, but we did manage to find it (it’s in Zone 3 so need a regional ticket, not just a Metro ticket). Went in Jan, no crowds and the manager of the place gave us a wonderful tour. He also told us about the Memorial of Fighting France, a 10 min walk around the corner and up the hill, that was worth seeing. It was about a 3 hr excursion for both places, train included. There are already some fantastic pics posted of the cemetery so I will add a couple of the train system that I hadn’t accessed online but took while in the passageways.

Visited on Veteran's Day
Nov 2019 • Couples
My Veteran husband and I wanted to honor the day while on vacation in Paris. It was relatively easy to navigate there from the center of Paris on the train system. The location was lovely, peaceful and felt very respected, while just outside of a very famous city.

Place of Contemplation

This is a serene, quiet corner of Paris that is worth the trip for anyone interested in WWI and WWII history. It is situated on the side of a hill with a beautiful panoramic view of the entire city of Paris. We were the only visitors in the morning and were able to peruse the gravestones and visit the chapel for peaceful contemplation of the sacrifices made by the young men and women of USA so far from home.

A Place for Reflection
May 2019 • Couples
This is a very well kept cemetery easily accessible via public transportation from Paris. The Visitor Center located on the left side provides all the information you may need and has a clean restroom too. It is a nice place for some reflection about the cost of freedom and provides for an opportunity to pay your respects to the fallen soldiers. As you walk uphill, make a right turn at the 'au pere Lapin' restaurant to reach the cemetery.

A trip of a lifetime

This is a trip everyone should make once. To visit the American cemetery and realize the cost of freedom. Recognizing the sacrifices of all the allies it is amazing how easily we through away freedom for the security of the State. A stark reminder of what happens when States have total power and control of their citizens rather than a respect for and desire to work for the citizenry. France England America and even Germany have forgotten the cost and lack the willingness to again stop tyranny.

American Heroes Rest Here

This beautiful Cemetery sites on a hill on 7.5 acres inside the city of Suresnes, France and from the Chapel you can get a view of the Eiffel Tower and the city of Paris. There are 1,565 graves and 974 names listed on the Tablets of the Missing. The Superintendent was very kind and helpful and walked with us to give us some information about this Cemetery. It is a WWI Hospital Cemetery initially funded by the Robber Barons of America who had homes in this area and who enjoyed racing. They wanted a good hospital to care for their people. It was eventually turned over to the military and became a "hospital" cemetery.

Most of the graves are dated 1919, after the war when many died from the Spanish Flu or military related accidents, some were There are also some WWII Unknown Graves. Here lie one pair of brothers and one pair of sisters. We saw several nurses's graves. The Chapel is stunning and the panels provide heartbreaking information about the war and those who died here. Others were disinterred from different cemeteries and reinterred at Suresnes.

There are clean restrooms, a nice Visitor Center where you can speak with the Superintendent and pick up the new Commemorative Sites Booklet. Parking is on the street, there is no parking lot, but the Superintendent said we could have pulled up onto the paving stones in front of the Cemetery.

If you are in this area, stop and pay your respects to those who gave their lives in the service of our country.

A must-see & hidden gem. Don't miss this lovely memorial.

I'm amazed at how many people don't know about this beautiful memorial. We come back every time we're in Paris. Easy to reach via public transport or by taxi/Uber. The location is on a hill with gorgeous views of the city and the Eiffel Tower. Make sure to stop by the office, where an American veteran overseas everything. They're happy to answer questions and provide additional information. Both the cemetery and memorial are beautifully kept, providing a fitting tribute to those Americans who lost their lives and are buried onsite. We brought sandwiches (they ask that you don't eat onsite) and after spending time at the memorial, went across the street to a park and enjoyed lunch while looking out over the stunning city views. It's well worth the visit.

Took a day to walk to this cemetery and it was simply an amazing site to see. Very worth the walk. Up on a hill at the top of Suresnes, it over looks most of Paris. Well maintained, very peaceful and gives you food for thought at the site of all those graves.
