Superb museum for all playing card and tarot lovers located few minutes walk from Mairie d'issy metro (No.12) station in a Issy Les Moulineaux. 8 or 9 stops (10 minutes) from Paris city centre. Smallish but beautifully arranged over three floors. Free entrance for little peaople up to 26 years, 5,20 Euro for old ones. Unusual opening hours so check online before you visit.

The museum is set in an interesting cluster of old and new building, and comprises the cards and games exhibition and some other sections on local history and art.

There is not one single sign in English in the whole museum, so if your French is not perfect you will struggle to enjoy most of the exhibits. That said, there are lots of well-designed displays and the building is interesting to wander around.

Perhaps good for a short break on a rainy day!

I visited this museum only to see the exhibition of impressionist paintings of the Seine River, I'm glad that I went out of my way to see this show. I'm not much interested in playing cards, but the museum's display was curious for a quick look.

You need to be seriously into playing cards to really appreciate this place. It's a smallish museum in Issy Les Moulineaux, mostly in the basement. Some very pretty pieces but the not enough context is given to really help you appreciate what you are looking at. If you are in the area and it's raining, there are worse ways to spend an hour.

Probably helps that I’m a long time aficionado of card decks, particularly Tarot, but this small, uncrouded and well presented colección of cards was a real treat during my short Paris visit. Great insight into the history of games and cartomancia. Fabulous.

Collection of cards and games is really diverse. I liked there were many different types of cards for the same game (for example of Tarot) - they've changed through history and they varies depends on the region. Texts are all in French, but if you are interested in cards that should not stop you to visit this museum.
There was also temporary exhibiton of Rodin's work which was nice to see as well. I was the only one in museum which made the visit even better. However, 1,5 h is definetely enough if you want to see temporary exhibiton, see all the cards and read everything.

It is not crowded. There were activities for children. The displays were very well done and the information very well researched. Definitely worth a visit.

Who could imagine a museum dedicated to playing cards? Yep such a place exists in the Paris inner suburb of Issy les Moulineaux.

Houses a beautiful collection of old playing cards and games and often hosts special events and expos.

Well worth the visit especially if 19th century tarot cards are your thing.
