Despite the attraction of this being the artist’s actual studio, the pictures are poorly lit and the quality is not the best. The guide appeared to have a rather limited knowledge of Millet and the School of Barbizon

To be in the house where Millet lived is interesting but do not go there if you want to see a lot of his work. It simply is not there on volume. What I found most interesting was the ability to journey through the development...More

The village of Barbizon – 'le village des peintres' as it is called in French – is beautiful, but it is hard to get and from. And expensive because one needs to hire a taxi, unless one has one’s own transport. For this reason I...More

A small museum housed in the former home of Francois Millet, the most famous artist of the Barbizon school. Known for the Angelus (de Millet). The exhibition is nothing special but it is interesting to see the actual place where Millet lived and worked.
