What a gem of a museum! Arrived to an unassuming building don’t let this fool you. We were greeted warmly by the staff and briefed about the museum and its exhibits.

This museum houses all manners of interesting facts, displays and audiovisual but just when you think you’ve been intellectually stimulated enough it’s gets even BETTER! the real highlights for us were the outdoor exhibits. No spoilers here but you will be transported back to the 1900 hundreds through a perfect mash of replicas, sounds and info boards, it doesn’t disappoint. If you closed your eyes you could almost be there.

Bravo the Stafford’s Regt Musuem!

This is a wonderful small museum that charts the history of the Regiment from its foundation. It’s small enough to be interesting for all, but there is a couple of hours of immersion for this that want to take their time. Outside the trenches and sound effects are a glimpse into the past, and are well done, the air raid ‘experience’ likewise.
Behind the museum is a play area that will let adults sit for 10 minutes while the kids run amok, and there is a small cafe trailer for refreshments.
Museums like this live and breathe due to the enthusiasm and dedication of the volunteers and staff, and the guys here are a great example of that.
I’ve been twice in the last year, with young children, and need to go back soon to spend a bit more time reading the displays on my own!
Highly recommended

Well impromptu bucket list visit. On arrival there was a WW1 event. £5 entry. Lovely welcoming staff all dressed up. Brilliant display and brilliant piece of culture and history. Every man woman and child should visit and see our men and women at war, at play and serving our country. Trench display was ace, guides told you all about it and the displays were out of this world. Anderson shelters, guns, kids interacting with the staff. All in all it was a brilliant visit can't say or impressed we were. Thanks guys n girls. Not forgetting the wrvs canteen ladies for a cuppa.

We have just visited the museum and had different ages of children from 5-13 and they all had the best time and found it really interesting. And also loved the play area outside.
The staff are more than accommodating and are really helpful and happy.
I would recommend this place for any ages as the kids loved every minute of it.

Thank you for your visit and review. We appreciate your comments about the staff, the vast majority of whom are volunteers, who give up their own time in support of the museum.

Have lived near the museum for over 10 years,Never visited until today...Don’t know why because what an interesting & fascinating morning or afternoon out!
The staff are truly wonderful,Welcoming & very knowledgable,I haven’t seen friendliness like that for a very long time...Thank you!!

My son absolutely loved every min of the visit,The trenches were a great treat to be able to go in & physically see not to mention the museum where my son couldn’t believe his eyes at what was in the glass units.

Definitely worth a visit to this museum,We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and my son loved his souvenirs we were able to buy from the little gift shop which is a very good & mixture of things for them to buy & take home!

Thank you for your visit and review. Your comments on the staff are very welcome and appreciated, particularly as the vast majority are volunteers, who give up their own time, in enthusiastic support of the museum. It was obviously an enjoyable visit, why not come back and see us on one of our special event days, when the museum really comes alive.

We had a great afternoon visiting the museum and exhibits outside. Very informative and the interactive elements were brilliant for my two boys. The attendant we met was excellent, explaining many of the exhibits and telling us about the history of the regiment. Look forward to visiting again in the near future.

A couple of hours well spent walking round the museum. We were met by very friendly and helpful volunteers, in costume.
Great value for money, £13 for a family ticket, which allows us access for a whole year.
Very well presented museum, with loads of information and trenches which give you a little glimpse into what it might have been like.

Visited here today as an impromptu day out and would definitely visit again. Two very helpful, enthusiastic and informative guides (who wanted to remain anonymous :) ) gave us an excellent pre-tour chat and pointed us in the right direction to get the most out of our visit. The indoor museum is interesting, informative and very moving; lots of military and social history. Our 10 year old loved the whole museum, especially the trenches and going over the top, the air raid shelters, holding the gun (wow!) and sitting in the scout car. They have special events here which we will return to take a look at and plenty more that we probably missed today. Visit this museum, you will love it. We arrived late morning and did not leave until 3pm (none of us complained of feeling hungry despite having missed our lunch, which says a lot about the place and it was an awfully grim stormy day so would be amazing in better weather). We could not recommend this more highly. "Lest we forget".

A fascinating museum with exhibits inside tracing the regiment’s history from the seventeen hundreds to the present day. Outside there are vehicles and a large area tracing the history of the Great War and showing what trenches were like.

Well worth visiting. The way the path through the Great War is set out with the regiment’s VCs is very thought provoking.

Had a fascinating time at the museum which had grown and developed hugely since my last visit around 10 years ago. Really friendly and knowledgable guides and volunteers and a great selection of artefacts from the 1700’s up until the recent past. The 1st world war trench recreation and 2nd world war pill box and civilian shelter exhibits are great to see. Will definitely revisit!
