Worth a short drive from Vannes if you are wanting a swim or to visit the coast.
The basin swimming pool is filled with salt water from the sea. The beach area is now smaller, so will get crowded in summer, but the walk around the headland is always pleasant.

We visited this area on a recent holiday to France and had a blast.
We only stayed a few hours but had a great time. The kids loved the sea pool and had so much fun playing. There is a little cafe if you do not fancy a dip and want to watch the family from the sides.
Car park was busy so be prepared to wait for a space in case you are not lucky enough to grab one.

From Vannes there is a free park and ride shuttle bus provided to Conleau, the nearest sandy blue flag beach - catch the bus at the west quay in Vannes. We would not recommend trying to drive to Conleau unless it is off season or you are very early - there is not much parking and it quickly becomes congested with those hoping to find a parking space in summer. Conleau has a small sandy beach and huge salt water swimming pool; each time the tide comes the water is retained behind a wall. Lifeguards are present during the summer months. There is a nice walk around the peninsular, and a variety of restaurants and cafes to eat.

Did a walk by a few days ago while the sun was out...yep a rare day it was...beautiful harbor boats dotted the area and walking paths to stretch your legs on and ride your bike ,and small places to stop and get a 5 euro coke or 5 euro water....lol..beach is for guests of the nearby hotel mostly as the area close by is payed parking..What really fried my bacon was finding out the in town Domino's Pizza was closed from 11 am till 5:30 pm...awww when in France !

Wonderful peaceful area right next to a Best Western Hotel Le Roof. Great centre for wandering/cycling around the bay on the many footpaths

Situated close to the city of Vannes, this natural "swimming pool" is nice and free. Water is clean! Transports are quite efficient from the city center and picnic areas on site are practical. Worthwile exploring just around the "swimming pool" where you have a natural beach with showers and toilets which enable to get changed. A good alternative if you do not have the opportunity or the time to go out of the city.

The beach is probably safe for the kids and close to Vannes, but there are so many stunning beaches in the Morbihan that this wouldn't even get on my shortlist. There are several bars and restaurants close by and there is a pleasant footpath around the Ile de Conleau.

Natural sandy beach, ideal if weather is good in summer, large parking, some cafes and restaurant nearby; nice beach to go also with family.

Plenty of sandy beach here, but it's the extras that make it such a popular place. Many parking places, wooded hillside ideal for picnic, grassy areas also ideal for picnics, marine swimming pool, park for children to play, a few shops and cafés, and a lovely walk round nod the point. Recommended.
