Lovely to walk around the old town!

Lovely city, walking and lots to see. Visit the church, gardens and creperie! Parking was okay but can get busy.

The old town is gorgeous, so many beauty buildings to see, lovely quirky streets and shops/cafes. If you are in Vannes on a Wednesday or a Saturday be sure to visit the outdoor market, it is an assault on the senses!

This is free just to be there. Take lots of photos and enjoy the wonderful shops all around. When we visited, there was a large public market there and the surrounding area. The food was amazing!!! The ancient Vannes center is sited on a hill top where very well preserved buildings and houses surround the Place Henri IV. At one corner one could see the wood bust of Vanne and his wife who one believe were the former properties of the XVI century pub.

This is a very pretty square, where you feel in medieval times. AQs a matter of fact for their independence day, on July 14th, there is a medieval festival, and in this plaza there are representations of small sketches, everybody dressed in medievl costumes, music of that time, very pretty and nice ambiance.
