Beautifully simple and so quiet
Sep 2019
Whilst looking for the Place Henry IV in Vannes we suddenly came across the Cathedral just off the square. A lovely cathedral on the outside but even better inside with stunning stained glass and so many beautiful small chapels with chairs or forms for visitors to sit and contemplate. It has an amazing organ with strangely a clock in the middle of its pipes. It is a place of worship that is visited by locals and tourists alike but is still a place of worship. So quiet. It is very informative inside especially with regard to Saint Vincent Ferrier. And it’s free. Recommended on a trip to Vannes especially to see the whole area including the colourful half-timbered fronted houses of Place Henry IV, the Cathedral, Les Halles de Lices and the Ramparts and Gardens.

A perfect surprise
Sep 2019 • Friends
Although I had heard there was a beautiful cathedral in Vannes I was unprepared for what I found. Truly an architectural jewel with hints of its Romanesque past as well as touches of the Renaissance in places. Renovated across the centuries it nevertheless maintains it very Gothic character.

Not to be missed. I was particularly interested in finding the tomb of St Vincent Ferrer.. It is right in the heart of Vannes; easy to find , surrounded by charming buildings and right nearthe art museum.

A Centerpiece of Vannes City Center
Jun 2019 • Couples
This is a stunning centerpiece in the walled city. It is beautifully done with its statues, and stained glass. As you meander through the city be certain to stop in and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Stunning Cathedral in the heart of Vannes
May 2019 • Family
While walking around Vannes, one thing that you can not fail to spot is the Cathedral of St Peter. This sites within the central part of the old town at the lop of a hill, nestled in tight old fashioned streets. We entered the Cathedral to see a huge layout out with beautiful stained glass windows and stunning pictures and statues.

Located in the middle of Vannes, its free, ancient Cathedral, lots to see inside and I suggest visiting in the morning before lunch - go and enjoy.

Beautiful, ancient church well preserved although in need of cleaning. Worth the time to see and spent a little time inside.

Simple yet stunning
May 2019 • Solo
A very simple yet such extraordinary place of worship. There is a very quiet the Most Blessed Sacrament chapel where you can pray and mediate. This is a place with reliquary of Saint Vincent Ferrer. Must visit when in Vannes!

Right in the middle of the Old Town
May 2019 • Couples
Worth while visiting when you are walking through the Historic Quarter. It's free & while you would classify it as "great" it is still impressive.

Not the biggest, nor the prettiest, but worth a visit
Feb 2019 • Couples
This is not the most beautiful or biggest cathedral that can be seen anywhere, but it's worth a visit. It's being well maintained (it belongs to the French government, not the church).
