While in Roscoff we visited Le Comptoir des Algues to hear about the thriving seaweed industry. Really interesting talk was given by a local expert (in French), and we picked up a few bits in the shop too. 30 minutes saw us in & out. Recommended!

There are obviously those who are deeply into seaweed, but for those that aren't and are, perhaps, sceptical about its 'magical' properties, this shop is full of an amazing range of overpriced unguents & 'medicines'.

The web site gave no hours, at least none that we could find, so we made the trip up to visit and to buy. Closed on Sunday. Long trip for nothing. Can't answer any of the questions because we couldn't get in.

Passed by this whilst walking in the town and popped in. Good welcome and no charge. Lots of explanation of seaweed and its benefits. Lots of stuff to buy and talks are given regularly ( mainly in French). Would make a good bad weather outing for half an hour. Friendly staff.
