You absolutely have to book tickets online (and the mobile site is not great...) but you have to take the 3 ticket combo with the Flore submarine, the K3 bunker and the museum. These are the 3 main sites to do.
Parking is a little complicated so allow time to find a busy peridot space.
Bring water bottles. Even if there is a bar restaurant on the site.

Disappointing

The main attraction, the u boat pens (K3) is closed. The submarine was fully booked. The site and all the modern buildings around it detract from the structures of the submarine pens. Also the orientation around the site is very poor. If you want to see a good example of these amazing structures then go to St Nazaire where the buildings are accessible and stand alone without being disfigured by an assemblage of poorly designed and laid-out sheds.
