We went especially one afternoon but there was absolutely no baking going on and we were all disappointed. We visited the shop which has biscuits and cakes but more gifts than food. There are glass windows all along the factory but Im guessing you need to go in the morning to see them actually doing something. I think we saw one person tidying up. Not v exciting. French attractions need to add in more hands on activities for children. At least it was free to visit.

Thanks for coming ! True that in late afternoon, our workers are home. Starting at 7AM, we usually stoped cooking around 3PM... But we are organizing guided tours on mornings (in french).

Primarily a shop selling cakes, biscuits and other touristy items, before you go in the shop you can look through some windows and see them making the items, it will not take a long time to view, but worth going to get some presents.

Delightful biscuit, cakes and crepe factory with a short info on the history of it. Brittany is proud if its butter and what better way than to come and see what magic they do with it.

Visited with two families excited about the advertised factory tour. We arrived early and the 5 children waited patiently for the tour to start. The tour did not start at the time advertised so we checked with the shop if it was going ahead and we where told no. Then 5 mins later the same person who said no arrived and did the whole tour in French. At no point was anything said in English not even a brief description of what was being made behind the glass (between the viewing area and the factory). The only communication from the lady doing the tour was to hush us for speaking (we were only speaking very quietly). It was clear we where English and tourists but the tour guide was only interested in the French people attending the factory tour. Benodet is a tourist area and the factory tour is advertised locally as a tourist activity. At the very least we had expected some posters on the wall describing what was going on but there was no of this. Disappointing for both the adults and children who had been looking fwd to the factory tour all week!

Thank you for visiting us. I'm sorry to learn your disappointment about the visit. Currently, we dont have staff who speek enough english to give a tour in front of a group. However, we remain aviable in case of questions ! I'm sure that kids enjoyed after all to see bakers making cakes and crepes. To double check, when was your visit ? Thank you again.

The biscuits from here are really nice but the prices are really high and probably not worth it in my opinion. Lots of free samples to try though.

I did the tour here on Friday at 10:30 am and it was packed; probably over 50 people. Our young guide did a great job keeping the attention of the sometimes undisciplined crowd and telling us interesting stories about how crepes and cookies are made. Note that the tour is only in French (I speak French fluently so it was ok) so non-French speakers were unfortunately left out. I recommend that the owners provide at lease a written sheet with the main highlights in English at least but perhaps also German, Spanish and Italian. Or perhaps offer an English tour at least once a week during the season. It was really interesting to see how this small local artisanal company makes such delicious products with all locally sourced raw materials. If you are not there for the tour, and it is during the week, you can still see how the various products are made. The shop is huge with their own cakes and cookies along with other local products such as French cider, but also the usual 'made in China' triknets

The "experience" is looking through 4 large windows watching some people work. The shop though... so much to choose from and the biscuits were brilliant.
Worth going for them alone.

Like most Bakeries in Britanny the Galette (crêpe elswhere in France) is a local specialty. The bakery where the actual work is done can be seen trough big glass windows. there is an on site shop where locally produced cakes, galettes and other delicacies can be had as well as trinklets and souvenirs.

We just wanted some honey and perhaps to try the local biscuits. Oh my but the biscuits are heavenly and we couldn't just take one variety could we and the confitures were fascinating so we had to try those too - oh yes, we did get some honey too. We also found a range of wonderful gift items to take back with us.
