Nobody told us about the flies so I thought I had better tell you. We went up today on the cable car, great views, a sunny day. Arrived at the top and had to walk to the summit through this biblical plague of little flies,...More

A lovely sunny day in August we parked on the side of the road half a mile from the cable car station, walked there, bought 'aller et retour' tickets and had a lovely couple of hours at the top of the highest mountain in the...More

Today we climbed this beautiful mountain and it was well worth it! The views were breathtaking and the air so fresh. It was very busy but not so busy that you felt you were always near people. Take a picnic with you to eat at...More

This is the top of the mountains of Auvergne. There can be some snow so be sure to be prepared. We were there in June and had no problems. There were some waterfalls, lots of wildflowers everywhere, and incredible views. You can hike to the...More

We visited in summer; the views are outstanding and the precipitous valleys take the breath away. Those would would like a little more of a walk than the 20-30 minutes to the top of Puy de Sancy might be interested in the circular route that...More

The cable car is a great ride, but you can walk up and down by different routes, all well signposted. The 800 + wooden steps to the summit from the cable car are worth it for the view.
