Marmande, the prettiest of towns, and the start of our canal boat adventure. This little village is so quaint, and still has the charm associated with the french countryside that we all dream of. It is off the beaten track and benefits from that. Lovely place for lunch.

If you are in the area it is well worth a visit, we have been a couple of times over the years, always interesting these large old churches, if only they could tell a story!
The garden is small but nice and great for a photo.

Friends
I live fairly close to Marmande and am in town several times a week. I always take friends to see the church which is bigger than some cathedrals. Very old and with a dark, damp chill but the statues and stained glass are worth seeing.

Cloisters and gardens are very attractive and we'll kept, and the Eglish itself makes an interesting visit. Nothing exceptional but would recommend a visit if visiting the town.
