Not fast as it stops at all the little places but we used it Hendaye to Irun (2 mins) and Bilbao to Hendaye (over 2 hours). Cheap, clean and efficient.

Most convenient way to visit Pasaia or San Sebastian. On Saturdays, there are Euskotrens every 2h (12h15, 2h15, 4h15, 6h15) which is really convenient. Unfortunately, the trains only run until 9pm on other days. During Semana Grande, there are much more and later trains.
