We had the “adventure” tour. It was a real treat, and one of the best we have done in 30 years of wine buying in France. Our guide was Anaïs, and she was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The experience starts with a brief history in the tasting room, and then a tour of the vineyards in a 4x4. Some of the tracks are narrow with precipitous drops - the hills don’t look so steep from the ground! We stopped several times to take in the views whilst Anaïs explained the terroir. We were here during harvest time, and so we could taste the ripe grapes at some of the stops. Normally even ripe wine grapes are not nice to eat, but the Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris tasted good!

Back at the winery there is a comprehensive tour of all the stages of wine making, from pressing through to bottling and labelling. The whole operation was well explained and presented. After the tour we headed back to the tasting room to taste the wines - 10 tastings in all.

If you like your wine and are interested in how it is made, you will really enjoy this experience. Highly recommended.

We popped in to the fantastic new Winery centre at Domaines Schlumberger as a part of a day out in the Vosges. The staff were really welcoming, knowledgeable and hospitable and led us through the excellent wines explaining the impact of the terroir on the various grand crus that make up their portfolio. They showed great enthusiasm and honesty and made this a great day out. We bought a few cases and will definitely be back in the future. Bruce

With my friends, we had a great time Saturday afternoon visiting the cellar with the owner. It was a very enriching moment with a person who defends family, human and professional values who makes the visit even more pleasant.
And thanks to Isabelle for the tasting, a very attentive person and good advice. I recommend 200%.

I could only choose the Trip Advisor title that mentioned teenagers by web has none. This was a last minute booking. The tour guide, whose name we did not get, spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable. 5 of us from 56 to 25 had a really good visit to this lovely site, currently going under some reconstruction work which did not affect our visit. We learnt a heck of a lot and saw the whole procedures. All explained in near perfect English. We finished off with a tasting of 5 different Schlumberger wines and were talked through all if then. We left with a bottle each and the satisfaction that we had spent 9 Euros wisely. Thank you to our lovely guide. I would definitely recommend a visit.

This is a very old and well established winery that is still family run since the 18th century. Thomas Schlumberger drove us out to the vineyard and described all the nuances in different plots of land and we admired the healthy clusters of grapes that will be harvested in the next week. His sister, Severine, then conducted a tasting of their regular and Grand Cru wines back at the main facility. My favorite was the Grand Cru Pinot Gris but they were all excellent quality. Highly recommended.

We visited again today after last time in 2015. I forgot to ask the name of the extremely helpful young woman who guided us through the current tasting wines. She is very knowledgeable, and has excellent English for us.

We bought several boxes of wine and then took her recommendation for a restaurant for lunch: Le Petit Gourmet.

Merci bien, madamoiselle.

In a recent group tour of Alsace, we had the pleasure of touring the Domaines Schlumberger, an establishment that that has been family-owned since the early 1800's. The winery was not in operation, as it was summertime. The tour was indoors only. The young lady who was our guide provided us with a very enjoyable, thorough, and educational wine-tasting experience, however. She guided us through tasting five different Alsatian wines, each with decreasing levels of dryness. My friends and I enjoyed the wines, and we learned a lot on this tour. Each visitor was gifted with a bottle of wine to take home. I will see if I can find these wines in the US. This tour is highly recommended.
