    A very beautiful medieval village
Very beautiful medieval Alsatian village which serves as the head office for a large number of winegrowers. We came by bus (R30) from Colmar station for a short visit of a few hours, which was more than sufficient. The village was very quiet and pleasant during the school holidays and without the hordes of more or less drunken tourists. We ate there, did some shopping and visited the religious buildings. Allow 2-3 hours without the restaurant.

    Picturesque cozy town
Beautiful cozy town. It is worth visiting it. Combine it with a trip to Colmar or explore the castles nearby. Together with the 3 Castles of Eguisheim and Hohlandsbourg Castle, the trip took us almost the whole day.

    A town of stories
On our tour of Alsace, we made base in Colmar. Eguisheim is a 15-minute drive away. Very beautiful... they are one of those places that seem to come out of a story. Your diagram is circular and it is good to do the whole round and then get inside. They can ask for maps to guide themselves in the tourist office that is at the entrance. They have in several languages. A recommendation?. If you are in Alsace, do not miss it.

    A city of charm
An idyllic setting to walk, bike or even by small tourist train to discover it. Named the most beautiful city in France, this city richly deserves it for its architecture, its welcome, its streets, its typical buildings, its many cellars, shops and restaurants. Walking through the vineyards is an enchanting moment.

    Small walled town
This was the last stop of our historical town and wine tasting tour. Unfortunately, you can see in the distance a heavy rain storm was approaching and we literally powered through main street in 20 minutes. However, it was not really a big town to begin with...

    OUT OF TIME "SPLENDID".🤩.
So here we are in this splendid village in Elsass, we really change era. Its wonderful floral facades 🌸🌺🌼 , its narrow streets and original cobblestones earned it the most beautiful village in France. Good obviously for those who stay there for a while, go visit at night this village, it is safe, the buildings are illuminated with accuracy which confers a medieval and bewitching atmosphere at the same time, you wander one or two hours pleasantly surprised and captivated at every alley detour, you are full of eyes. In conclusion SEE ABSOLUTELY 🥹🤩🤩.

    beautiful flowering village
Eguisheim has been named among “Le Plus Beaux Villages de France” (the most beautiful villages in France). It is the typical fairytale village, with its pastel half-timbered houses, the shops of ancient crafts with wrought iron hanging signs, lots of flowers, cellars where you can taste the fine Alsatian wines and the nests of white storks perched on the roofs. It has a circular shape, a double fortification was built according to an ellipse model.

    Must see
Very nice little flowered village like many in Alsace, the fountain in the center of the village is beautiful. In September, we had the chance to see some more storks in their nests. Nice walk in the flowery alleys, good restaurants. Not to be missed.

    A little medieval jewel
Lovely Alsatian village that has kept its medieval character. His visit is very well organized, just follow the tourist path very well arrowed. This village must be visited and for 4 € parking is not so expensive. So enjoy these alleys, its castle, chapel, shops and restaurants.

nice moment of historical discovery of Eguisheim mixed with humor, anecdotes and passion
Visiting the website of the Eguisheim tourist office, we saw that it was possible to follow the "night watchman" on Monday at 5pm to discover the ramparts and a little history of Eguisheim. If you have the possibility to follow him, especially do not hesitate! What a lovely moment! Thanks to the night watchman for his charisma, his humor, his authenticity, his desire to share the history of Eguisheim. A nice discovery of the old town and its ramparts, mixed with a historical setting described wonderfully by a passionate night watchman all mixed with humor and anecdotes. Special mention for having us sing the song of the night watchman all together, no matter how many we were! A nice historical and enchanted break ...

Magnificent little medieval village in the heart of the Alsatian vineyard.
It is good to stroll through its narrow, cobbled streets. The old buildings, the multicolored facades, the thousands of flowers that adorn balconies and balustrades. Eguisheim is undoubtedly worth a visit.
Lovers of local wines will also find what they are looking for there.
Originally from the region, I am sad to see that the village is sometimes poorly “rated” simply for the price of parking – which we can indeed discuss. But that doesn’t take away all the charm of the place!
Come at 7 p.m., parking is free and you will visit the village in peace and quiet.
To discover.

One of the most beautiful towns in Alsace. It is essential to go all the way around the wall and enjoy the different houses that you find. It is worth going first thing in the morning to avoid a lot of people. We managed to do the entire round practically without people. It is also essential to go to the center where the statue of San León IX is.

Oh yes, 4€ for parking when you destroy your health with a pack of cigarettes for 10€, what a scandal. And that this parking lot is not 500m away, but 50m from the town entrance!!! and that the toilets are maintained there.

Let's return to the subject which is one of the most beautiful villages in Alsace. Go around it via the narrow streets of the southern rampart, then the northern one, then go up the Grande Rue to the place of the castle of Saint Léon IX (adjoining chapel and fountain just in front).

Everything is beautiful in this 1h30 route under the sun, houses, shops, etc...

This is my craziest travel experience lately. The Colmar Comunity neglects the massive tourist demand to visit Eguisheim and doesn't let frequent bus connection to this majestic medieval village just 7 km away of Colmar. The buses run in 2-3 hours interval that make the planning of the visit difficult, but the craziest is the bus trip organization.
There is no signposting of Line 030 on the bus stops in front of the Colmar rails station where the route starts. You have to find it with asking random bus drivers or other tourists - it's the second bus stop on the right exiting the rail station. The bus is with 50 seats only and the crowd waiting nearly 100. When the capacity is full the bus leaves and all visitors are left behind to wait for the next bus in 2-3 hours. No extra busses despite the demand. Besides, the bus driver doesn't accept payment with cards but only cash and the tickets are written by hand!!! That is time consuming but obviously nobody cares there. Really my craziest travel experience lately.

On a Sunday evening, after 7 p.m.: the car parks are empty. However, parking is free from 7 p.m. Further on, the camper van parking: €10 for 4 hours and €22 or €23 for 12 hours. We wanted to stop in this village to have a flamm. Seeing the prohibitive prices, we left. We ate our flamm in a neighboring village, where they understood that those who drink after 7 p.m. are the motorhome drivers. Explain to me why such a difference in price, and why we, motorhome owners, have to pay €10 for parking to eat a flamm, which lasts at most 2 hours....

I find it horrible that we call ourselves the most beautiful villages in France. I found that it’s a tourist scam or how to scam tourists. If we don't want the villages to be known, we don't participate in the competition. I have already visited many villages on the wine route but how can we make tourists pay for parking and on Sundays and holidays who come to consume or buy wine. They have no other solution than to come by car. I intended to go to the Christmas market but for me it is clear I would no longer buy Eguisheim wine and I would not come. For me it is a shame Very very disappointed

The town is beautiful, very pretty, but eat at home or with sandwiches,
They eat early and variety is not their strong point.
Apart from the waiters being quite unpleasant in more than one place
And very expensive compared to Spain

Walking in Eguisheim is walking round and round in circles, with constantly new views on wonderful houses in narrow streets. Personally, I prefered easy going Eguisheim over the more touristic places like Riquewihr and Ribbeauville. It is a lovely place to get lost, and just walk round and round and round ...

This is the most charming spectacularly gorgeous place I have visited! It is just magical with the medieval architecture as if you are in a fairytale!! You walk through winding narrow cobbled streets and with every few steps will see tremendous photo opportunities. There are a number of attractions, many restaurants, shops with souvenirs, baked goods, and confections. We can highly recommend Tasty Veggies for an excellent lunch. Eguisheim is A MUST SEE! It is only 15 minutes from Colmar.

Probably the best village we have so far visited in Alsace. Every year we choose a village for our lunch break and this time we stopped in Eguisheim. Just fantastic, a small village, a sort of maze with narrow streets, a lot of wineries and a small central square just lovely. It looks like being in a fairytale. It is few minutes from Colmar and it deserves absolutely a visit!
