I took an early morning walk for a few kilometres along the well-maintained boardwalk that runs alongside the beach and the railway line, then walked back along the beach. I finished with a swim just near Marco Plage. How lovely to swim with a view of the Citadel.
The tide was out, and the water wasn’t very deep – this would be excellent for families with young children!
I was impressed to see municipal workers out and about very early emptying bins and recycling containers and keeping the whole area presentable.

I adore Corsica and especially Calvi. Its clean, pretty and sophisticated with many quality restaurants, and the beach does not let this small town down.

The beach is only a 20 minute slow walk from the fortress, passing the marina on the way and the many many flower displays that filled the street with perfume. The sand is soft and clean and the water is as clear as tap water and very calm. The sea is not deep at all, and you must walk out some distance to reach waist high. It is not rocky underfoot.

There is a number of beach cafes all operating sunbed facilities. We laid down at the first one we come to and 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella cost 12 euro (a cappuchino was 3 euro). I was told a little further up 2 beds and umbrella was 15 euro, so check along the beach for something that suits you.

As the beach is 6km long it never feels overcrowded or busy. I would recommend Calvi for a visit and hope to return again.

great location so close to town and surprisingly uncrowded--it gets more crowded a bit further east.

Calvi was much more charming and picturesque than we had thought before going for a day trip during our stay in Corsica. The Landry area of portside restaurants is a wonderful spot for lunch, snack or dinner and the central city provides a scenic walk. Do NOT miss the drive up the mountain to the Chapel Notre Dame de la Serra with its breathtaking views of Calvi and the sea, not to mention the incredibly beautiful statue of Mary atop a huge rock formation.

My title says it all - if you want a safe beach to sit all day with kids in Corsica (or the Med in general) then Calvi ticks all those boxes. The water is shallow for a good couple hundred metres with beautifully rippled surface and very flat gradient. There is no rip tide or sharp drops so even kids who can't swim can play comfortably.

The beach itself has beautiful soft white sand which is perfect for playing, building sand castles, forts, digging holes etc. There are also rock built breakwaters periodically which create fantastic rock pools - we found starfish, fish, hermit crabs etc - so perfect for those who want a bucket and net rather than bucket and spade. There are shoals of small fish which swim around in the shallow waters and they are fun to watch / try to catch in the net.

There are beach cafes along the length which has sections with their own loungers and parasols for hire for a day at a cost of about €10-15 for two which we didnt think was bad; but there is plenty of space if you just want to bring a towel and sit on the sand.

There are places to rent wind surfing and jet skiing equipment as well.

The train runs along the back of the beach which adds another level of interest when sitting there watching the water but alongside the track is a boardwalk which takes you along the beach nicely. From Calvi a short walk away from the Citadel there is a treeline activity centre aimed at kids / young adults suspended in the pine trees which line the beach.

All in all, this is not a hidden secluded beach this is a practical but perfect beach if travelling with kids, especially young ones.

Nice public beach with easy Access from the road and a big parking lot.

The beach is not spectacular like some others in the Region (Arone Comes to mind) with White sand and turquoise sea. It is a solid beach, yellow sand, deep blue sea, what makes it nice is the great view on Calvi's port and citadel.

Nice!

A 5 km long sandbeach in Calvi. Close to the trainstation and the city centre and a beautiful view over Calvi and the Citadel. On the other side of the beach you can see the mountains. The water is clear, there aren’t any high waves and the water is not that deep. You can choose between lying on a towel in the sand or rent a bed with a parsol. Along the beach there is several restaurants with food and drinks, quite expensive though. If your not staying in Calvi you can go here by the train of Balange från I’lle Rousse

Lovely beach just a short walk from the town centre, gentle shelving and very calm the day we were there, plenty of sun beds for hire and lots of good beach bars/restaurants

It was a very hot day, everybody came to the beach to cool off; it was very crowded. It is a short, easy walk from the Quai Landry. The water was very refreshing but was not clean. As well, you had to walk out a long way to swim as the water was very shallow. Fortunately, there are a few cafes to get drinks, food, and ice cream. The trees and plants that lined the beach area offered a nice fragrance too.
