This Citadel is stunning! Nearly preserved as it was at its origin, it is a beautiful place to visit. Towering on top of Calvi's harbour, you can enjoy a magnificent 360° view of the bay. If you pass by Calvi do not miss it for a quick walk!

My Lady is the romantic type, so when she suggested we go climb the Citadel close to midnight I was actually a little conflicted, why at night and not in the day? Well she nailed it, go only after sunset and see the sodium lights bathe the ramparts and once you get all the way to the top the payoff... More

Really beautiful , peaceful and scenic place. It was well worth the climb even in pretty hot weather. The views were stunning and we were able to wander and take photos in a beautiful old church. The Citadel took up several hours on our visit. So worthwhile.

Calvi is one of my favorite "big" city in Corse. The old city is nice and typical with the marina close to it.

This is a beautiful place to visit, the views from the citadel and the amazing architecture as well as the art exhibitions make it worth it the walk on the hill. We went in a quite windy day so it was kind of annoying, but we enjoyed.

Really good experience, especially the head phone route in English and entry is free. History includes Napoleon and Christopher Columbus Staffed by French Legion soldiers

Great but tiring tour around a historic landmark. Very interesting old buildings with very nice and old things to see. Also had small cafes stuck between old buildings. Only downside one of our party slipped on steps as someone hosed them minutes prior. However was fine and great tourist attraction.

Excellent views ant not particularly touristy. There is a good walk around the walls and an nteresting old small town. Not much there or open when we went in the morning.

We really enjoyed wondering around the quiet cobbled streets of the citadel, it seemed very peaceful up there compared with the main hub of Calvi. We enjoyed a delicious ice cream in some unusual flavours including thyme and rosemary, wondered around the ramparts and had a lovely glass of wine looking out to the harbour. Certainly worth braving the steps... More

Another church visited, more simple than elaborate, beautiful surroundings and no charge to get in, photos allowed
