This is a well run beach with many cafes along the strip. In September, when we stayed there, it was not crowded or noisy. There are water sports available.

It’s a nice place to catch some sun and then sit with a drink at one of the restaurants. Great water if you’re a swimmer.

Mylopotas beach is sandy, beautiful clear water. Didn't use the sunbeds as i stayed at IOS Palace Hotel. Lots of lovely restaurants on the back of the beach. Plenty to do, relax or hire a boat, go on a boat trip.

A short drive from the Hora. It is a well organized loooooong beach with lots of water sports opportunities from kayaks to Scuba. If you go to Mylopotas, rent umbrellas closest to the resort on the North side. That general area has the best beach,...More

We visited Mylopotas twice this year on our holiday in Ios and really enjoyed it. However you need to walk to the far end to get into the sea easily otherwise it’s a bit difficult due to the rocks and stones. The sunbeds with umbrella...More

This is a great sandy beach (for Greece) and has lots of facilities. There is lots of space for everyone and the sunbeds are not too close together.

Hello! Fly from Dublin to Athens and then Santorini. It’s a very short ferry from Santorini to Ios. Ios is an amazing place - far out is very 18-20 year old though! Depends on your age :)

Hi. Yes, it is, we got a cab once & it was about 15 euros, not the cheapest but doable. But as SueK50 said, there is a bus that runs regularly.

Vangelis car hire (1 Replies)
Hello Has anyone got an e-mail address to Vangelis Car hire on the road to Mylopotas beach? I am trying to find suitable car hire and contacted 4 providers in Ios... no luck there. Vangelis seems to be the only one left to ask now but I do not find their e-mail.

Mylopotas beach accommodation (4 Replies)
Hi, we are thinking of staying in Mylopotas in early June. Some of the hotel reviews say there is constant music being played - is this accurate? I understand it’s a party island but wondered what it would be like early June. Can anyone recommend whereabouts on the island to stay. We like easy access to restaurants/tavernas but like our accommodation to be located in a quiet spot. We are in our 50s but young at heart !

Hi Mylopotas is a great beach to stay at and as long as you don't book somewhere right on top of the far out beach club then you be fine. I can't comment how busy this beach is early June or what is open but this year early July we stayed at the island house mare located about mid way along the beach but set back a bit and we could hear music in the distance from far out but there was a new beach club called Free which we could hear music a bit nearer but this didn't bother us as we liked the...More

Hi I've never been to Europe before and came across this forum. I'm finishing my final year of University in April and would like to plan a trip in May. No idea what im getting myself into but from what I gather Ios is the place to go and near Mylopotas beach. I just need a different vacation - would like to check out the clubs - meet people - do some tours -experience Greece- im open to anything. Anyone thinking of travelling around that time? I have no agenda, don't know what to...More

Beginning of May is a bit early in season, but if you wait until end of May, you will certainly meet a lot of fellow Canadian, and Australian, and a variation of European young people in Ios. I think choosing Ios is a very good choice for you. Dont plan very thight, just go there and "follow the stream". Transport and accomodation is no problem in May/June, and making friendship is equally easy when you travel with an open mind.
