About
Da's farm was passed down to him from his parents and has been in his family for generations. When you visit the beautiful organic garden, he'll tell you more about the history and show you all of his organic herbs and vegetables. Da grows rice, various types of basil, green beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, bananas, papaya, pineapple, galangal, ginger, and much much more! Almost all of the ingredients that you cook will come from his garden, freshly picked!

Good hosts and a exxelent place. Delicious food
We enjoyed Da's Thai cooking class. In the beautiful surroundings of his house you will be taught in an open kitchen. Da knows a lot about the different herbs and products that grow in his garden. The food we made under his guidance was very tasty. Da is a friendly man who gives cooking lessons together with his wife, which we would like to recommend.

    Definitely recommending!!!!
It was a delightful day and more than I could have ever asked for! I would recommend this experience to everybody who wants to eat really tasteful food. But being very hungry is almost a must, because you will be cooking a lot. I am utterly expressed by the day!!! Much love, a german family.

Great experience making delicious Thai food
We had an amazing afternoon and cooked such delicious food with Chef Da. He picked us up right from our hotel and took us to an open air market in Chiang Mai. As we walked around, he told us about the various foods we were seeing as he bought the ingredients for our dishes. Then we drove to his house and he gave us a tour of his beautiful garden. His wife prepared our ingredients so they were ready for us to chop up and cook. Making curry paste from scratch was by far the coolest part. You put all the ingredients into a mortar and pound it with pestle until it's paste. The yellow curry and mango sticky rice were our favorite dishes but we also cooked pad Thai, cashew chicken, tom kha gai soup, and tom yum soup, which were all delicious. Of note, we were able to book this last minute and Da was responsive by email and very flexible to our last minute date/time change.

The cooking class was such a wonderful experience! We each picked from a menu of options: curry, soup, main and dessert. We went to the farmers market to get supplies, then traveled out to Da's farm for the class. We cooked in an open air kitchen, surrounded by the garden and nearby pastures. The ingredients were pre-portioned and we just had to chop and cook. Everything was really easy and turned out amazingly delicious.

Had a fantastic time on Da's farm. Da was a fantastic teacher, and was always there to help you and tell you what to do. The lessons took place of Da's organic farm among the rice fields. Not only were we able to cook 4 delicious dishes (and eat them of course!) but Da took us to the local food market which was fascinating as he showed us around. He also showed us around his garden and after we had eaten we lit giant lanterns into the night sky. Da also gave us a copy of the recipe book so we can keep cooking at home. The perfect end to a perfect afternoon provided by a lovely host. One of the best things I have done in Thailand.

I never cook. I don't like to, I don't have the patience, I'm not good at it. This was easily THE BEST thing I have done on any trip I have taken the last few years. It was so rewarding that I could look at what I made and think... I did that!! and it tasted good!!! There were only 4 of us, they took us to the market and went over products and then we went through the home garden and also got a tour and a taste and smell of the local products. The instruction was awesome and as bad as I was, he was patient and helped me figure out what to do. Must, Must, Must do!!! and if you need a place to stay in the country... ban chunsongsang home stay.. its 200meters away.

Must do if you are in Chiang Mai!!!

Da provides a fantastic, unique and personal cooking experience in his beautiful and tranquil home setting.

I cannot recommend this experience highly enough! My partner and I visited 2years ago and I returned again this year with 2 friends who also thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

He educates you on the different herbs and vegetables both home grown and whilst at the market, you then prepare and enjoy 4 delicious meals of your choice.

Da only accommodates max 6 people at anytime so perfect for small groups.

He provides bottled water, tea/coffee whilst you are there and a great recipe book to take home!

Thanks again Da for a lovely day! 😊

The only way I could convince my husband to participate in a cookery lesson was if a) the group size was small and b) if it was in a traditional setting ie not a big restaurant. Da's farm ticked the boxes.
We were picked up from our hotel in the Old City and taken to a local market, from there Da showed us how to select ingredients and also purchased any extra's needed. You choose the dishes you wish to cook whilst travelling to the market so if you have any special requests ie tofu for vegetarian, Da can collect them here. You can also pick up a couple of beers here to have with your meal too.

Then it was on to Da's farm which was lovely, quiet and tranquil. Great to see all manor of plants, herbs and vegetables.

Now onto the cooking. A good choice of traditional Thai dishes which were simple and quick to execute, my husband is now a mango sticky rice convert!!

My only slight criticism is that we were too full to really enjoy all four courses, having said that, I don't know how you would overcome that.

We would highly recommend Da's cooking school.

What a wonderful time! Da was so nice and knowledgeable. He gave us door to door service, showed us around a local market, and opened up his home to us tourists to teach us Thai cooking. It was great to get out of the city and see the countryside. Definitely one of the highlights of my vacation. Bonus: Super cute puppies!
