What a Find!
Aug 2020
What a find! I don't understand why this place is not talked about more in Chiang Mai. The gardens are beautiful and there is so much to see. Different types of plants, amazing topiary animals, live animals including camels and ostriches, peddle-boats, children's play park, and a maze. You can go around in a golf buggy or hire bicycles. There is an excellent buffet restaurant for lunch in the same grounds with Thai, Western, Japanese foods. An excellent place for families but even our teenage son loved riding the bike around freely.

Lovely gardens

We explored the gardens as we were guests in the hotel. Reduced staff due to Covid - 19 but they had managed to keep on top and the areas were maintained.
Worth a visit if you are in the area or stopping in the hotel

Such a beautiful setting for whatever reason you can dream of. Club had a mexi-feed here, catered by Dukes. Mmm Olé! Clean facilities before and after the deluge swamped us. Pleasant atmosphere includes a small petting farm, aviary and topiary garden. Out-of-town guests will not want to leave this shangri-la.

World-class garden

What a find! It is a spectacular, all inclusive place to visit. There are peddle boats, a zoo, maze, waterfall, museum and an exhibit pertaining to the Lanna culture. We visited on a Thursday and had the place to ourselves. It exceeded our expectations and it a great place to spend a half or full day. Due to its size, there is a free shuttle that will take you around (we didn't use it) or you can rent bikes or a golf cart to travel around. Each area is definitely worth a stop, but some will require more time than others. You can bring your own bike; however, there is an additional charge (which I think is a little ridiculous). The entrance fee is 86 baht (less than $3 USD). Even if you are in Chiang Mai, it is worth the trip! There are also 3 restaurants on property (outside of the garden), so there's no need to rush your visit. The restaurants are clean, reasonably priced, attractive and the food was good.

Must visit this truly beautiful botanical garden that has been delicately built and maintained with so much tenderness, meticulousness and dedication. Don’t just stick to the tram but make sure to wander around leisurely to enjoy its full beauty of this healing sanctuary.

Left hotel 8.30am, just got a taxi car off street. Again, interesting drive to the gardens. We hired two, bikes. So glad we did. Added to the fun. Also, we would not have seen so much if we had walked. Nice and cool time of day. The gardens, trees, flowers, birds, sounds and smells were so tranquil and exceptionally well kept. We stayed three and a half hours. It was so peaceful and fresh after the city. The cafe at the entrance was not really that good! Our driver had waited for us 600 bht for a lovely memorable morning.

Visit to Tweechol
Jan 2019 • Couples
We loved Tweechol botanical gardens. Beautiful and amazingly quiet, though school groups visit. Cost was 85 baht and 75 for bicycles whjch we hired and rode all round exploring all areas. Cost 1000 baht to get there though. Few in Chiang Mai seem to know about it. We thought it was a real gem. With kids you could search out the many topiary animals, dinosaurs included and there is a small zoo, though I struggle with the ethics of it; small pens for all eg 4 camels in one small area.

Lovely, quiet and peaceful
Jan 2019 • Couples
This was a lovely morning walk around well maintained gardens. We saw very few people and no sign of a shuttle bus/cart to take us around....... but we only heard about that from reviews after we had been there. The lake was peaceful and a lovely spot for a sit down. The different animal shapes in the greenery were a delight. There is something to see in every direction.
It was difficult to find using Google maps as that app led us to a totally different spot. But the locals were obviously used to random visitors as they directed us in the correct direction.
The restaurant is only open on a weekend and/or holidays which was a disappointment but not too surprising given how quiet it was during the week.

A very quiet, spacious and beautiful Botanic Garden
Dec 2018 • Solo
As I stayed at Horizon Village and Resort for two days I could visit this garden whenever I wanted, especially for early morning walk. It was simply wonderful to see green trees and beautiful flowers. May be due to winter season not many variety of flowers were there but red salvia splendens were in full blossom and some variety of orchid flowers were there. But this garden is huge it took more than 2 hours to go round and see different themed gardens. There are many animal shaped bushes of all sizes including dinosaurs.
