Although the weather was poor the open church was welcomed.
lots of antidotes on the pews added to the pleasure of our visit

Although the village is hard to find it is worth the effort to find as it is quiet and a delight. The church is large and on a raised area over looking a picturesque green and an old pub. Just outside the churchyard is the village war memorial.
Entry is via and old wooden door and inside the floor is covered with a red carpet.
There are four rows of wooden pews and three separate parts of the church, which are divided by two rows of arches. To the left of the altar is a chapel and to its right, the organ.
The church windows are a mixture of plain and coloured glass and there are a lot of plaques to local folk and those killed in action adorning the walls.
There is a large selection of books for sake at cheap prices too.

A lovely Church, with its heart ripped out by those interfering Victorians!

I didn't see one memorial tablet in the church that was earlier than mid C19th and those there were, cold in their austere, unembellished wording and plain execution.

A.W.N.Pugin certainly had his work cut out, no wonder he was driven mad!

Great position for us, opposite the B&B, this is a great little church in a wonderful village. The stained glass is superb and when we went (the Sunday after harvest) there were all of the decorations left from harvest including some wonderful items made by the children. Also there were some wonderful displays outside. The volunteers were also extremely pleasant and very helpful.

We always appreciate churches that are left open during the day. This church had a lovely atmosphere with plenty of leaflets available on its history and recent renovation works. It clearly holds a very important place at the heart of the village.
