    Stay somewhere else!!
Hotel was very poor and rooms were incredibly tired. Booked a ‘superior’ room which according to the website was meant to have robes and water. These were not present. The hotel website we were told was not correct in showing the amenities and rooms!! Feel quite misled by the website and felt the rooms were very expensive for what you get. The premier inn is nicer!! Shower was mouldy and ceiling was flaking. On the plus side the room was large. Staff were mainly great but not enough to cater for the amount of people who were booked in. Long queues for the bar and food. Management always seem absent when you try and complain.

    Really disappointing
I booked a golf weekend away for my partner's birthday and thought this would be a great place to stay. Ee arrived and checked into our room which was at the back of the hotel. Thought I would jump into the bath after our hard round of golf. When I went to fill the bath I noticed hundreds of pieces of hair. Each about 1cm long all over the bath. I can only presume someone had shaved in the bath. They were all along the edge of the bath too. It was disgusting. We ate from their set menu. It was good quality food. However we were not told we could pay an upgrade fee and enjoy a much wider menu! Having played a second round of golf on the 2nd day we thought we would pop back into the hotel for a coffee. However, the doors were locked and there was no sign and no way in. The golf course was in good condition and we wnjoyed the golf. Lovely views from the hotel across the course. On the plus sign the staff in the restaurant were very nice. Just needs a few more staff and some love.

Worst his and hers weekend ever
Booked as a his and hers weekend. DO NOT DO THIS!!! It was awful, despite ringing ahead the week before our booking was a mess. None of our reservations had been made, no spa treatments had been booked. We were told the pool would be closed all weekend with reception staff suggesting the wives either get ‘smashed’ in the bar or walk round the golf course in the rain. Hallway to room was littered with food trays that had left over breakfast remains, this was around 3pm at check in. Room was not clean, stained bedding left on, dodgy marks in the bath tub and sink. Golf course was packed, societies booked on by the bus load with each tee backed up with 4/5 groups. Took 6 hours for 2 of us to get round. Dinner was a joke, 4 people for 3 courses, at every course an incorrect meal came out. It took 3 waiting staff 35 minutes to bring a Diet Coke out. Staff rude and unhelpful. Was told drinks would be free due to the horrible dining experience then charged for them on the way out despite questioning. Room party’s went on into the night with loud music, no Covid regulation and staff seemingly not bothered. To top it off upon check out on Sunday we were told the pool had actually being opened in the end early Sunday morning but nobody bothered to tell any of the guests or even put a sign up. I could go on and on with the issues during our weekend here, but take my advice and book elsewhere.

    Dirty
Came here as a stop off. The view from the car park is great but as soon as we entered the reception we could already hear someone complaining about how dirty their room was, we chuckled about it as the entrance seemed somewhat grand and promising… til we got into our own room and discovered 3 spiders in the coving, what looks like finger paining on some wall heater, dust settled on every surface, the windows were so filthy too. We was also put in a room that was facing the roof top of their bar so when that opened every Tom dick and Harry was out getting drunk so we couldn’t even have our windows open due qto the noise. There’s no electrical point next to the bed so the lamp that’s on the bed side table couldn’t even be used. It’s basically just for show. It also meant I didn’t have a plug close enough to the bed to charge my phone. There was a lack of milk for the tea and coffees only 4 sachets. Absolutely no water. No fridge and not even robes to wear after the shower. There was no toothpaste either which is usually complimentary when at a 4 star hotel. By far the dirtiest place we have stayed and we don’t stay in anything less than a 4 star hotel. Disappointed to say the least … would not come back or recommend

    Disgusting treatment
On arrival and at time of booking was not told that you are not able to pay with cash for drinks at the public bar. No signs around and not told at time of checking in. Raised question but treated very badly and felt that I was being discriminated against by wanting to pay by cash due to not having any cards. Would have booked another hotel of time permitted and will not stay there again as there attitude is gross discrimination against me. No manager was available or prepared to take the time to talk to me. Bar man however gave me a free drink. One positive

    Course and Staff
Recently started playing golf again at Hellidon Lakes (after covid lockdown), course was very well maintained. Booking is so easy on line. The staff are doing a great job - well done all 👏 keep up the good work 🏌️‍♂️⛳️

    Not bad, not great.
Firstly, the vast majority of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the food was good, although very limited in choice. Unfortunately, several facilities were unavailable including the Sports Bar and the pool area. Presumably, this was due to staff shortages which is probably the same reason that drinks took up to 30 minutes to arrive on occasions. It's a shame that these issues undermine the staff who try very hard, particularly the two female managers we encountered who are excellent at what they do. The room we had was very tired and quite sparse but was clean. As for the golf, the land isn't really conducive to squeezing 27 holes in. They feel very tight and it's a really tough walk. The 1st and 8th holes on the Hellidon 9 are plain dangerous being adjacent and too close to each other. It's poor design really. However, what really lets the course down is the poor maintenance. Greens are like fairways and you just can't hit the ball hard enough sometimes. There are mountains of grass cuttings all over the place, including around the greens and there really is no excuse for this. For what we paid we had a really good time but I suspect we won't be back because of the poor condition of the course more than anything. The owners need to invest a little and support the staff, who in the main are an absolute credit to the business.

    Last minute booking
I’m giving a 5 star rating for the customer service that was given. The hotel had its first wedding following COVID so the restaurant was short staffed but the waitress handled this very well. The meals were excellent and the surroundings absolutely beautiful. The hotel is a bit dated but the service made up for that. Thank you for a lovely last minute stay.

    Great variety course
Course was in good shape, greens a little hard but it has been very dry for a few weeks. Very well managed social distancing, thank you. A great course to play for a new challenge, but be warned, you will need to work on your course management and keep the driver in the bag when you might be tempted to smash one. Will definitely be back with our society when we can get organised.

We went to MotoGP 19 at Silverstone and stayed at Hellidon lakes hotel what is like 30 min from Silverstone Circuit. We loved the hotel, room, amazing breakfast and pool facilities! Amazing countryside and we would love to return. Only complain would be the ventilator on our room, was very hot weekend and that didn’t help it at all. Would be ok with a better one or maybe AC. But we did enjoy a lot!

Popped in for lunch to see what the place we had booked for a spa weekend looked like

It’s very tired and needs cleaning on a lot of the furniture , prices are extortionate and the service is ok at best

A nice course with some challenging holes. The greens are good as are the fairways. Some of the paths are a little worn but with a little effort this will be back at 4.

I’ve played a few time now and perhaps it’s lost a little of the wow factor but playing today it was nice to see some of the long rough removed to give us average golfers a chance of finding the odd stray.

The beer is what you expect from a big hotel and the food a little over priced. More gourmet required at this price please. Service is ok but they need a few extra staff helping at busy times and someone to help clear the tables.

Will be back though.
