The Dam or “Barragem da Aguieira is one of the famous Dams in Portugal and this on the Mondego River, who reaches almost 90 meters of height, and a locations where allot of Nautical activities are possible, this is for us our backyard. The dam started his activity in 1981 under which the production of electricity, Agricola irrigation, controlling the flew of the river Mondego and also the delivery of water to the population. The dam is also known as the “Barragem da Foz do Dão, and has his limits on the following populations, Penacova, Coimbra district, Mortágua, Viseu district, Travanca do Mondego and Almaça, when you have to drive over the top of the dam than you have 400 meters, and his is the border in between the Coimbra and Viseu district. Very nice location and very nice views on his surrounding areas.
