The exterior, with its peeling paint, gives no hint to the beauty of the interior of the beautifully restored synogogue. Built in 1761, the pillar capitals, ceiling and walls are of painted plasterwork.. The walls are decorated with traditional Jewish subjects, such as Noah and...More

This beautifully preserved synagogue makes for an excellent connection to the extensive past Jewish history of Poland. The writings and wall paintings are magnificent, a reminder of the thriving community that lived here for almost 500 years.

The synagogue in Lancut is nice but it is close to the public most of the times. It is located right next to the castle.

Our tour guide arranged for us to visit this magnificently restored synagogue. The little prayer room was beautiful, but then the caretaker opened the doors to the main sanctuary and WOW!

Unequal - meaning that the same preservation society that owns the castle also owns the Synagogue. While the castle and the surrounding buildings in the area are beautifully restored - the last remnants of the Jewish culture is left to the elements. However, the inside...More

The Synagogue is not operational. There is no Torah Scroll, no seats and no "Minyan". So I believe that this is not the place you would like to go to pray. It is a historical site though, so it is worth seeing
