We drove from Roscommon, MI to Cross Village, MI where we took M-119 south through the "Tunnel of Trees". Twenty miles of 'tunnel' under gorgeous trees with Lake Michigan peeking at you on your right. It was raining pretty hard the day we took this trip, but it was still beautiful. Would like to go back this fall when the... More

You should allow plenty of time to take a slow drive along this narrow and winding road that is canopy of trees along most of this route. You will need the time to take in the beautiful architecture of the homes and estates, the views overlooking Lake Michigan and the abundant black squirrels. You also need to pay attention to... I just didn't get this? I guess depending where your from it will impact you differently. This scenery is typical everyday for us so it wasn't anything out of the norm for us. Don't get me wrong, It was a nice ride and all but we didn't need to drive over 300 miles to see what I see everyday on... More

Drove this highway in the past, decided to do it again. This is a nice drive, just wish it opened up more to lake michigan. Tunnel of trees may be more optimistic. It's more like driving through national park land. Many spots the sun is visible through the sky. I would say if you had other attractions don't give it... More

The best lazy drive EVER. Glimpses of Lake Michigan, tiny towns, and gorgeous homes make it a must-visit. Definitely roll down the windows as another reviewer said here (the new asphalt smell is sure to dissipate soon), and we'll add that taking a little detour to visit the historic St. Ignatius Church is amazing. Native American cemetery and a silent,... More

Go and experience yourself. Its one of the best scenic drive in the Michigan. Start from Petoskey -> Harbor Spring -> M-119 -> Cross Village. I have driven through it last week in Summer and was amazed by the views. Its one of the best nature has to offer out there. Its going to be fun driving in Falls as... More

The perfect alternative route from Petosky to Mackinaw City! Great views along the lake. Just beautiful. Only added 20 minutes to our drive. So worth it!!

Traverse a winding road through a canopy of trees. Great drive on a warm summer afternoon. Stop at Good Hart General Store about half way through the 20-mile drive. This quaint General Store has awesome home-made pies! At the northernmost point along the Tunnel of Trees stop at Legs Inn in Cross Village. You'll notice the aroma of Polish food... More

The temperature dropped almost 12 degrees along the tunnel of trees compared to nearby Petoskey. This is a great place to roll down the windows and just drive slowly along. It's curvy and slow moving with a few places to stop along the way. The start of the tunnel is marked by Pond Hill farm (offering farm-to-table dining, brewery and... More
