During the Venetian government in the middle of 15th century, was created this very nice harbor to sorting out countless merchandise , the bridge and the palace with porch are definitely in Venetian style

This is one of the most pitoresque places on the south side of Lago di Garde. Greta to have lunch, dinner or just a cappuchino and enjoy the setting

The castello is interesting in its own right, but made better by the art installation about Caravaggio. We also enjoyed an opera performance in the grounds one evening. There are plenty of local bars and restaurants nearby.

This is the main area for tourists to enjoy a meal and a drink with a small harbour with small boats moored up as a centre piece. Plus lively ducks and tame birds looking for food from your plates. One side has a series of restaurants and the other has a few small cafes come bars and the odd shop.

Along with people watching and wandering about this is the place to visit but to be fair this town has plenty of other places close by. if you are staying or visiting Desenzano then you will find yourself here and try and take a picturesque photo of it in the day or evening. Nice enough but nothing special.

This is a delightful little harbour which has restaurants around it. The hire boats when not in use are tied up. Swans and ducks swim in and out of here under the lovely bridge to the Marina and lake,

This rectangular bacino is the old harbour of the town now with its entrance arched over by a venetian-style bridge. It is surrounded by palaces, hotels and restaurants but continues as a genuine fishing port with indigenous fishing boats. The harbour has an active 'Friends of' association who keep its interests at heart. This is a fine place to dine in the evening: especially at 'Colomba'.

We sat and enjoyed a coffee by the harbour which was lovely. Just watching the people coming and going was interesting. One day it was market day and the market was over the bridge and all along the lakeside.

On a sunny day this is a charming area and the day we visited it was indeed hot and sunny. We had morning coffee, then lunch, then afternoon drinks all at different establishments on the old harbour. Excellent. Added to by the area being taken over that day by the largest market I've ever see, so lot's of happy, smiling faces everywhere. You might also want to note that Desenzano's tourist information centre is here. There's a very good carpark on the waterfront just a couple of hundred yards away, but if you're using Satnav then good luck in finding it. Ours kept trying to take us down residents-only streets and we had to dead-reckon our way based on my hazy recollection of the real-world map!
