We were staying in Sorrento and caught the train to Castellamare di Stabilo. The cable car up Mt. Faith is next to the station and cable cars run every 20 minutes. At the top is a cafe. We took a walk to the right down...More

I recommend that you go there whether by road or with the funicular. The panorama on Castellamare di Stabia, Napoli and the Vesuvio is amazing and there are great restaurants on top. It is easy to walk around and the nature is refreshing and calming.

I haven't seen any information about this, apart from via trip advisor and its a great few hours out up a mountain. Sadly a little cloudy when we visited after a stormy day however it is a lovely place to visit. Straight off the train...More

Well worth the drive to the top of Monte Faito! Past tall mature trees, and spectacular rocky landscapes, to draw dropping views of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, Capri, Ischia, Sorrento... A peaceful, idyllic, location, tourist free too!

The cable car travels a long way in 8 minutes and the views are tremendous, both towards Vesuvius and also, after a short walk through pine forest, towards Sorrento and Capri. The weather was hot and humid, so the air was not at all clear,...More

We can only echo other travellers' enjoyment of this activity. We would never have known about it without TripAdvisor, as our tour rep in Sorrento made no mention of this attraction...perhaps because she could not earn any commission. The café at the Hotel Sant Angelo,...More

Next to the train station at Castellammare is the Funivia, which takes you to Monte Faito. The funivia is cheap, the views are fabulous, and there is plenty of space to avoid the crowds of Sorrento, Pompeii etc. Also interesting flora and fauna on the...More
