we viited Lake Maggiore and Stresa in September.
We left by Quads in Baveno, near Verbania. We enjoyed a lovely Quad Excursion for 4 hours around the mountaions above Lake Maggiore
The Briefing was done in perfect English and the guide led the way. The aperitif stop was excellent well done to the LAGO MAGGIORE EXPERIENCE Team!"

One of my favourite Places in the world is Lago Maggiore and Lago Como. Stunning views of the Alps with the lakes and villas. Very calm pace and great food

Beautiful lake surrounded by stunning mountains and villages. Very scenic. Time permitting take a boat ride to the islands between Verbania Intra and Stresa. Have a meal on Fishermen's Island (Isolo dei Pescatori also called Superiori). Check the boat schedule so that you are not stuck on one island for too long - they are beautiful but very small). If sea and a sandy beach is not a must for your vocation, Lago Maggiore is a great place to spend summer holidays.

This area has a wonderful lake and mountains. Unfortunately many restaurants etc. think that means that they can rip off the tourists with poor quality food and unfriendly service. It helps if you are rich both for some of the restaurants and also for the attractions. A lift pass for 2 weeks skiing in my chosen Austrian village compares very favourably with a single return journey on the cable car here! The word extortion springs to mind.
