As you walk in from Parghelia you have a wonderful view of Tropea which looks best in the early morning light. To access as a pedestrian you walk up steps-several sites although we mainly used the ones near IL vagabondo bar. Good views too over...More

We have been to large and small locations in Italy. here one feels the genuine friendliness of the shopkeepers and the beauty of the town. You are not in a tourist location, here is the real deal.

an amazing amount of completely run down houses, falling apart and sometimes even looking dangerous, this is probably the charme of Tropea. the splendid view from the viewpoints counterweights the general impression.

The second half of September, is a great time to visit Tropea. During this time, there is a jazz festival in the old town. Old buildings, small family shops, nice restaurants, narrow streets - all together give a charm to this beautiful city.

It's like walking back in time when traverse all the small laneways of the main streets, with derelict looking buildings and historic buildings and churches. At night the streets are buzzing with people out for the "passeggiata" stroll, buying ice cream, fast food and other...More

Romantic narrow cobbled stoned streets with buildings from the 18th century. Everywhere lovely little restaurants and caffees. Terraces with stunning sea views. Peaceful and beautiful. It is so charming
