Based on the reviews we had high expectations. Maybe it's the end of the season, or something else but we were less than impressed with selection. We found more things to purchase at other places, including the supermarcato's

After browsing most of the stores in Tropea, I pretty much did all of my gift shopping here. The prices were competitive to the other stores with a similar inventory in Tropea, yet the presentation and packaging are much nicer. The selection is really great too. So far everything I've gifted was a huge success! The owner was very friendly and helpful as well.

Full with local products, from sauces to honey, great selection of wines and cold cuts.
Authentic atmosphere.
A great spot for a sandwich on the go and delicatessen shopping.

You must visit this place. The owner is one of the most hospitable people we encountered. The cheese and prosciutto out of this world.

I visited Lorenzo's little 'deli' to get sandwiches and snacks for a boat picnic. I was very happy with the quality of the ingredients as well as the service. Lorenzo was polite and professional.
Perfect place to grab a quick bite on-the-go, or to buy quality local products. This is not a sit-down restaurant or deli. They've got everything ranging from cheeses, cold cuts, wines, to toothpaste. If you like licorice make sure you try the Amarelli sweets, and breath mints. I also recommend trying the red onions from Tropea and the bergamot flavored drinks. Bergamot essence is used in earl grey tea, and this citrus fruit is local to the area.

We found this place as the most highly-rated restaurant in Tropea -- not sure what all the raves are about. It's a nice little grocery shop with a selection of wine, cheese and prepared meats. And they're perfectly nice, but I just can't figure out what all the hubbub is about. If you are in need of wine or some authentic Italian snack foods, by all means, this is as good a place as any. But I would not go out of my way to visit.

There are a lot of these little shops scattered around tropea, all selling pretty much the same products. We hunted out Lorenzo's on a recommendation from a friend (& from TA!) & it's well worth finding. Maybe a few cents more expensive than your standard tourist joint but we found the products to be better quality & the service definitely better. The Nduja was the best we tasted anywhere in Tropea, the aged balsamic is divine & the owner really knows his onions! Very helpful, happy to let you try & give advice. We bought quite a lot of things here & would definitely go back.

I bought my whole "souvenirs" here at this shop with local specialties. Very recommendable is the red tropean onion mousse. Perfect for appetizers, BBQ etc. So delicious. The prices are pretty similar to the other shops. But the owner knows the facts about his products, not just selling them! He was really kind. Also tasting is possible.
