This museum is located across the street from Hotel Clittuno. It is reached by walking down a passageway to reach a staircase which will take you to the 2nd floor where the museum is located. It is not a large museum and all signs are in Italian only. Depending on how interested you are in the fabrics and costumes, 30 minutes should be sufficient to view all the rooms. The museum is located in a former palace so each of the rooms has ornately decorated ceilings and painted murals.

Had a ticket as part of the Spoleto Card. This is hardly ever open. By the time we'd found it, it had closed for the night, 30 mins before advertised. Can't therefore comment on the display, which does sound good, doesn't it.

Poorly set out, no English explanations, special display of religious garments with no information at all, total of 6 rooms of which 2 (costumes) were taped off with no reason given and still full price charged. Two staff sat round talking. Needs a good overhaul or be incorporated elsewhere.

Sorry this is long but I have to explain this. I took my Mum to find it shut BUT by chance I found another entrance so I put my head in and found a very polite man sewing in a back room turned out to Santoria Doriano the man who designed and made by hand the collection on exhibit this is not really a museum but his own collection made for models and celebrities. He gave us a personal tour showing us photo's of some his celebrity outfits and even gave a few bits for the girls to try on my Mum was over the moon as she has an interest in that stuff and we were in Spoleto with family for my Mum's 80th birthday, I don't have that interest but I did after being in there he had an amazing passion and pride in his work..
I have to admit the hours of opening are rubbish but many places were like that.

Some rooms were closed due to earthquake damage, but I believe it is getting repaired soon. I loved seeing the old textiles.
