Enjoyed a lovely evening here and a spa day with my family for our Christmas treat. Staff and service is excellent and my facial with Rampreet was amazing. It’s the first time I’ve been here since COVID, and it looks like they are back in full swing!

I went solo to Millcroft for a day spa experience ie using the hot springs and other facilities as well as having a booked massage. The spa is located on an amazingly beautiful property with the waterfall area taking my breath away…. I found it soothing to bask in its energy . The trails were less pleasant with too many mosquitoes to
relax.
The spa building ,change rooms eating areas are dated with poor layout and not very user friendly. I had to be constantly asking my way around . My locker was in a cramped area in the hallway so it was hard to navigate it. I was not offered slippers at check in as most spas do and had to ask .
The pool and springs areas felt more like a family hotel with lots of loud conversation and a buzz not typical of a retreat. I did not feel relaxed out there at all.
The spa cafe was not clearly marked and I had to ask how to get service. The food is ordered at a counter and I was low key insulted by the cashier when she insinuated that I might not be able to afford the sweet potato fries with my meal. My lunch experience had a very budget feel with not so budget prices. Charging 3$ for a bag of chips does not make it upscale.
I must say though that the massage made up for some of that. My therapist … I think his name is Aaron…was very skilled and professional.
Hydration is suggested after a massage as well as before and they ran out of water in the treatment area.
I think that there is so much potential for that place with its location but their approach to customer experience needs work . They need to understand that people come to a spa and pay money to feel serene , pampered and relaxed…. This is not the time for do it yourself and figuring out. I can’t speak for the inn or other dining facilities since I didn’t use them but would not recommend the spa overall and certainly don’t plan to return .
Tip:Bring your own slippers to the spa

My daughter and I each enjoyed two treatments at this wonderful spa. So many services to choose from, it was hard to decide. There are amazing hot springs there which added to the relaxation, as well as a cold water plunge pool and a good gym. Beautiful robes are available for use. Great Spa to go to for a day but even nicer to stay overnight!

I have been coming here for year and loved it, until today!

I arrived to finding about 10 kids from 3-13 dominating the main pool and two hot tubs with toys/ floats, screaming and running around and the parents doing nothing. There was even a baby in a toddler, poolside crying.

Not exactly a relaxing or ideal spa experience.

If they are going to have weddings with an abundance of small kids, shut down the resort to others or give us a discount.

I will be rethinking my future visits.

My facial was fabulous and so was my meal/ bartender…but the rest was absolutely ridiculous and a waste of my time.

Jan 2015 • Friends
I am writing this on behalf of my wife. This occurred on Sunday, 25 Jan, 2015.

Having been to the Millcroft Inn in the past for dinner on two
occasions when I was extremely pleased with the experience, my first
time trip to their spa on Sunday was disappointing. The website boasts
it is "award-winning" and one of the "Top 100 Spas in America". I have
been to some nice spas in Canada and the U.S. and this was mediocre in
comparison. I booked a pedicure for myself and a friend on Wednesday,
which I realise was a bit close to the desired date of Sunday. We were
given only a 9AM or 4 PM option, and I chose the 4 PM option. Was told
the spa closes at 5 PM. It was suggested that for lunch from the spa
cafe, to arrive a couple hours early, place the order, enjoy the
amenities, and the food would arrive at the cafe approx. half hour
later.
- drove for one hour from XXXXXX
- upon arrival before 2 PM, we ordered a simple lunch from the menu (2
salads only). We were told it would be ready at 3 PM.
- went to the change/locker room. It was small, uncomfortable, cramped
quarters with at least 10-15 women closely dressing, and drying their
hair in front of sinks that should have been free for washing hands. I
saw only one toilet. The pool was adequate, the hot tub would fit 3 to
4 people maximum comfortably, and seemed too small for the amount of
guests who were there. We were told the hotel was sold out and the
dining room was busy, but no one knew of any conference going on that
day.
- we showed ourselves to the cafe area at 3 PM; no staff were present,
all the tables were empty but uncleared from previous diners. The
space was again, quite small for the number of potential guests.
- when we went to the front desk, we were told to wait in the lounge
until they called us for lunch.
- the lounge was busy and less than relaxing with that number of people
- the quality of water and tea offered in the lounge (self-serve) was
mediocre
- at 3:20 I headed to the front desk to see where lunch was, and was
told the dining room had been hit with an unexpected group of people.
Our food was "on its way over" from the main building.
- close to 3:30 our food arrived and staff finally cleared a table (in
front of us standing and waiting) for us to sit down
- The salads were basic greens with dressing, and some bread on the
side. Hardly worth waiting 90 minutes for, or paying 20 dollars a
plate for. I have had better, more affordable salads at fast food
restaurants.
- I was thinking later that we should have put our coats and boots on
to trek up to the main dining room ourselves, so we would have had a
better chance at a nice meal.
- when we were greeted slightly late for our pedicures (since we did
not have a leisurely lunch and had to eat quickly to make the 4:00
appointment), the service providers told us that most of the nail
polishes we could choose would take 45 minutes to dry, and a small
number would take 15 minutes to dry. We were not sure how to take that
comment...would we be welcome to sit and dry for 45 minutes after the
spa had closed or was this an insinuation that they wanted us to get
out soon?
- The quality of pedicures was good, and the service providers were
friendly, but all in all, this spa experience was less than desired.
- As an aside, the 72 hour cancellation policy is unreasonable.

For the pedicures and lunch, the total came to close to $200. What a
disappointment! We could have gone to my local community pool, nail
shop down the street and the fast food restaurant next door for a
better quality, more relaxing, efficient experience, at probably a
third of the price.

The good:
- Quaint, nice grounds, scenic.

The bad:
- Everything is overpriced
- We had to wait 2 months because the room we wanted was unavailable. An hour before arriving, the reservation manager called us to change our reservation from the deluxe to the traditional room, claiming there was a wedding and he was concerned the noise might bother us. When we arrived, we realized the change of room was clearly a downgrade and in order to compensate they provided us with a $9 bottle of wine (googled it). We requested to have the reservation reinstated and found out the room was actually given to someone else from the wedding party.....nice customer service...for them.
- There were flies in the restaurant (I'm sure they enjoyed the food more than we did)
- The coffee machine is located inside the bathroom (we've been all over the world and have never seen that). Overall I would have to say the best part of the stay was....the 9$ bottle of wine lol...enjoy.

It was a beautiful drive up to this location during the fall. When we got to the complex is was quaint - like a little European village. The challenge of this, of course, was that driving in and out was a bit tricky as you have to pass the inn and restaurant to get to the spa. And the area in front of the inn is quite small for cars. We had to wait for other visitors to move their cars, and delivery trucks and golf carts parked in awkward positions before we could make our way to the spa.

The spa itself was lovely. My friend got a massage while I received reflexology and we were both very satisfied with our services. The environment was clean and peaceful. The staff were lovely. I do wish the change/lockeroom area was bigger though. On a busy day it's hard to get around other patrons in such a tight space.

There were a few pools to choose from - 2 hot, 1 warm, 1 cold, and a sauna. These were nice. It was a nice day when we went to it was a nice view to sit outside. My biggest pet peeve though, is that I wish Millcroft enforced a no cell phone outside the locker room/check-in area policy like the Scandinavian spa in Collingwood. It's a bit irritating to be enjoying yourself in the pool and looking over to see not one, but two groups of young girls trying to get their best selfie. The point of the spa is to disconnect for a few hours. Also, for privacy's sake, other patrons might not want to be filmed or photographed in their swimsuits.

I liked that you could grab some food and drinks in the restaurant near the pools. It was convenient to enjoy the pools for a bit, come in to eat while still in our robes, and be able to go back out to the pools afterwards. Just a warning though - the restaurant closes after 4pm and is pay as you go.

Overall a great visit and I would return again, perhaps midweek instead when it's less busy.

We visited to celebrate my birthday, enjoyed the pools and ambiance of the hotel. Food was awesome, but they didn't have two of the beers on their list available ( sold out ). My biggest problem was our actual room - it was 30+ degrees, small windows that let in limited air and the air conditioning did not work. My main goal for this overnight was a good night's sleep away from the kids! Finally at 3 in the morning I went down to the front desk and asked for a fan. I just wouldn' t expect the room to be so uncomfortable for the price. Everything else was nice - made me feel special with a birthday card and whatnot but I definitely would have traded it for a bit of climate control ...

A great and relaxing day overall with friends. Also a great place to get together to spend some quality time.

Pros:
- Massage packages were great!
- Professional and very clean
- Just the relaxing feeling as everyone is in robes.
- The outdoor pool area is great! 3 pools different temperature.

Cons:
- During the wrap session, there is a point where they let you sleep/relax. It was a bit loud as you can hear people from the hallways and shuffling of drawers.

- Lunch was great... till a piece of plastic was still wrapped around my turkey sandwich. Jokingly we probably already drink plastic into our bodies. But probably not what you would expect from a high end spa.

Overall:
- I would recommend as a nice day trip to get away from everything.

Over the many years of visiting the spa it has been enjoyable. But the past few visits have been disappointing.
The treatments and staff are professional and attentive but the cleanliness of the lounge, bathrooms and showers are unacceptable. The renovations have made it crowded and less private.
They recently changed their computer system for the cafe and you can no longer charge your meals to your spa treatment account. (Take your cc with you-you have to pay before your next treatment, because that is convenient in your robe...).
The addition of the hot springs has increased business for the company but it is a detraction for those that want to take a day off to relax at the spa. It is loud, noisy and the through traffic is annoying.
I don't think it is worth the money any more to spend a day in a busy environment. If you are looking for quiet, this is not the place.
