Beautiful historical sight, worth visiting at least outside. The current appearance of the Fortress dates back to the Renaissance period: it was built between 1476 and 1482 by Giovanni Della Rovere, nominated Lord of Senigallia and Vicar of Mondavio by Pope Sisto IV, who was at the time his uncle Francesco Della Rovere. Now it’s a museum that hosts different kinds of exhibitions. Very picturesque!

Ancient fortress now an attraction and art gallery. Very helpful signage in several languages. Some of the rooms also display contemporary art displays. Good adaptive reuse. Worth a visit.

I visit regularly Senigallia, it is a touristic city which attracts (beside the Italians) a lot of Dutch, German, French and British tourist . This means that you will find a large porsion of the local shops that speak English and a lot of English signs.
I must say that we pass and spend time around the Rocca and the square right in front of it. BTW, the square and the dry moat are a great place for kids and animals to take a break from a hot summer day in the city.
The Della Rovere family which build the Rocca have also had a Pope, this can give you an idea of the importance of the family, of the city and of the Rocca.
To visit the inside you need to pay about 2 to 4 Euro depending on age and they have audio guides in multiple languages, but if you read english each paiting and exibit has a good explanation in writing. The furniture is almost gone (also cosider that in the middle ages there wasn't much to beggin) but it is worth a visit if you re in town.

I visited from the town of Pesaro via train and actually walked off and missed it! I thought it would be by the water as I saw it on the TV series The Borgias and it must have been photo-shopped by the sea! It is visible from the train station and in the center of town, so its really hard to miss!

I was surprised and delighted by how much English signage there is explaining the history of this fortress and each individual room. The lower rooms are wonderfully cool during the hot summer day I visited and I can image kids would love to get lost down there!

Now cost 4 euros and you must ask for the English audio guide, but there is enough written that you don't really need it. Its used as an exhibition space and while there I saw many paintings, photographs etc., that added to the experience. Overall fun and educational. Spent about 35 minutes there as there isn't much to see inside.

This is a central monument of the city - you don't need to go inside as the furniture is gone but learning about the history is interesting

Been to Senigallia many times but never actually went into the castle. So glad we did this time. 4 Euro entry which included an audio guide in English. The history and the information provided were very interesting. The building is also very beautiful.

This fort is magnificent! Sitting opposite the train station, it's one of the first things you see (assuming you've come in by train). Instantly, you get a feel for history of Senigallia and exciting times it has seen in the past.

While our trip was mostly focused on relaxing at the beach, we still like to weave in some culture or history. The Rocca was a cool site for a quick visit. There isn't a lot there, but we still enjoyed it.
