We were very happy with our visit to this pleasant attraction. The entry was 3euro each and although the sanctuary is small the guide gave us plenty of time for photos and to hand feed the deer. The tour was in Italian which we understood some of but we did receive an English brochure which explained most of what he was talking about. The deer are well cared for and have plenty of grass, water, food and space. The walk down to the sanctuary is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Afterwards we stopped for fresh panini which were 4euro and sampled some of the local liqueurs in the bar all while the kids played on the play equipment. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon with young children.

This a nice small place not far from lake Scanno. Local deers are kept and grown here, in order to protect them. They are not caught from the wilderness, but rather brought from specialized farms. The host is very friendly and explains in Italian about the life of this endangered animal. Children may approach the deers, touch and feed them. Great experience for the kids and worth a trip with lake Scanno.
