Nice City Center!
Sep 2019
We had a nice day in Scanno and this city center was so beautiful and peaceful just to sit and enjoy our cappucino's. Just so pretty and peaceful.

Beautiful central italian town
Feb 2018 • Solo
Beautiful historic town, amazing at all seasons. It has the typical architecture of central Italy with many churches, traditional houses and a beautiful lake nearby. The mountains are close by and several hiking paths can be found as well as a few ski slopes in winter.

Interesting, Cathedral closed as most were on the day
Oct 2018
Scanno has a reputation that failed to live up to expectation, perhaps on the day and time we visited most of the church's were closed.
Yep it is an old town with many many church's, so we were told. Parking in town is not easy, the nearest parking spot we found was way down the hill, so a walk up and you were on the side of the main cathedral, so you need to cross over to the other side to check out the rest of the town but we did not bother.
Had lunch at what is the best restaurant in town, that was good but not great.

A beautifull Italian small city
Nov 2017
Scanno is a shepperd small city. Here you can visit a little museum and a lot of traditional little shops. I liked it very much. Also near is the Scanno lake witch you should also visit and take a hike through the woods

Beautiful Italian Village
Aug 2018 • Couples
One of several beautiful villages we visited on our recent trip to Italy. Extremely photogenic. Others villages recommended: Arpino, Montalcino, Pienza, Castrovalva, Villetta Barrea, Opi. All gorgeous, a must for photo buffs.

Like going back in time
Aug 2018 • Couples
We visited the town after going to the lake. A beautiful town listed as one of Italy's 19 most beautiful villages. We meandered up windy cobbled streets looking at the old architecture and catching glimpses of the beautiful views - breathraking. Would recommend for a couple of hours. Parking was free and easy to find.

About a thousand + years old
Aug 2018 • Couples
Scanno has seen a lot time within its walls. There are structures dating back to 500. It seems that Italy has many of these types of ancient towns that seem to survive despite modernity. One can feel the history in these living museums.

SCANNO
Jun 2018 • Couples
As a tourist the worst thing you can do is arrive in a town between lunch time and 4pm. The towns are ghost towns. You are lucky to find a bar open for a coffee.
Scanno comes alive during July and August when the townspeople come back from Rome for their holidays and many festivals occur. But not all tourists travel, or want to travel, in the busy times

A wonderful small Italian town
Aug 2017 • Friends
If you are in the Abruzzo area, this town is beautiful to see. I was there on an August Sunday and the streets were full of tourists, which makes the shops and attractions much better because of the excitement. (It also makes the vendors happy).
We visited the local vinieria (Bar Abbruzzi) for early afternoon apertivos.. .wines, dry sausage, cheese... good selection of wine.
The shops are fascinating...the town looks original and is a gem.

Another stunning Italian Village
Aug 2017 • Couples
As others have indicated on Tripadvisor this hilltop village is well worth a visit.
The higher you go (near the chairlifts) you can see the architecture change and appear more Swiss like.
We enjoyed our visit.
