Loved the herbs
Nov 2018 • Family
Enjoyed this little museum of herbal pharmacotherapy. I found it fascinating that many of the herbs we use today, were used hundreds of years ago. It didn't take much time, We spend a lot of time in the store, fascinated by the products, everything was in Italian, so needed help figuring things out. Love the digestive teas!

Educational and fun
Aug 2018 • Couples
This well-kept museum is worth visiting as it only takes about an hour. It is well-organised with various rooms ranging from ancient medical books, to the 18th century pharmacy. They have pots of herbs all clearly labelled which you can touch and smell. Everything is well-kept. They even have a room to show how plants were picked fresh then hung to dry, containers of all sorts, and even the "laboratory area" that shows how medicinal plants were mixed and brewed. You get a 10% discount in the Aboca shop after visiting the museum.

We very much enjoyed our visit exploring the history of the medicinal use of plants. Lots of interesting old laboratory equipment and dried samples of herbs. Takes no more than an hour.

Well maintained and interesting collection. Organised tours in english are enjoyable. Worth the visit once in the area, especially if one has a health care background.

What a neat place

OK, I have a peculiar and professional interest in herbal medicines and the treatments used by our ancestors. This museum is just amazing. It not only has numerous texts and books on display which date to the 13th Century with recipes to formulate a specific treatment but the museum has exhibits of the equipment used. Distillation columns, retorts, a small filter press, and much, much more. Thoroughly enjoyed the museum and the staff was wonderful as well. We should be reminded that most of today’s pharmaceuticals got their start from natural products.

Totally worth in so many ways
Sep 2017 • Couples
If you care about history, medicine, pharmacy or homeopathic medicines this is very interesting. For such a small town this museum is packed with rare and interesting objects. Your senses will be alive as the smell and visual is really enticing. Exhibitions are excellent and the rare qualities of the objects are unbelievable for this small time. It was so worth the trip.
