Newly restored, Romanesque Gothic with three naves, each chapel there is a totem with its explanation. As soon as you enter there is a column, with € 1 illuminate all the aisles. Beautiful. In the side chapel of the Blessed Sacrament where there are relics are the works of Hans Clemer. To visit.

The Cathedral of Saluzzo, dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Assumption, now flanks the main street of the city, but was erected, between 1491/1501, just outside the walls that then surrounded it, in the space occupied by an older parish church.
Recently restored, it has a beautiful facade in terracotta and masonry with the main door topped by a high ghimberga and two columns with statues of Saints Peter and Paul.
The interior, with three high aisles with cross vaults painted in neo-Gothic style, is punctuated by robust pillars up to the high altar which has elegant columns and wooden statues.
In the left aisle you will find a beautiful polyptych by Hans Clemer with Christ and Saints.

Worth a quick visit. It was built in the early 14th century with a Gothic style façade.
The interior is very large with three aisles and a number of interesting side chapels. Much of what you see dates from the 15th thru 18th centuries. Note the beautiful woodwork, especially the Choir and organ which date from 1780.
The left aisle deserves special attention for the chapel of SS. Sacramento, built in 1729, which holds the preserved sixteenth-century altarpiece by Hans Clemer, originally placed on the high altar.

Though the interior has been heavily decorated in the nineteenth century, the church is woth visiting for its fascinating architecture and typical facade.

We were really seduced by this cathedral and, yet, we have visited hundreds of them. There is a sort of magic about the place, a particular, captivating atmosphere, like the city. And don’t hesitate to do like me: use a euro to light up the cathedral for three minutes. You’ll see, it’s extraordinary and it changes everything!
