A magic well proportioned container in a surreal mountain town setting.
Although I was not fond of the "mausoleum like" dome I found the circular shape building to embrace perfectly its purpose.
The permanent collection is outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the Soviet propaganda poster exhibition. Kudos to the curators for the balance and harmony of the installations.
Honestly, it tops NYC MOMA.

It is a little gem probably not well known.
Recommended to take the audio guide that explain the evolution of the modern art in Italy.

The museum is well designed. And the exhibitions there were well arranged. I had a wonderful holiday there, and the open area of the museum is really nice. You can just take a walk, enjoy the mountain views from the upper garden plaza of the museum.

Nice building but has only 2-3 galleries.
The upper gallery is the biggest one - the exhibition we saw was very crowded and had too much comparing the space

It is a great Museum with an impressive permanent collection. You can get discounts if you arrived by train. You can also get entry to both Casa d'Arte Futurista and MART for the same price. They are both terrific venues and worth the trip besides which Rovereto is a beautiful town.

This was one of the weirder modern art museums I've ever visited. (It was weirder than MOMA, and smaller scale.) There was an exhibit featuring the work of David Claerbout when I was there. I am not familiar with the artist but I found his photography and film work unsettling, strange and disturbing. Maybe that's the point! The permanent exhibition was organized into seemingly neverending categories. Most pieces were interesting. It was also an interesting choice on the part of the museum to have a paper booklet that acts as a guide to the art, instead of printing a sign placed next to or near the piece.

Impressive that the little town of Rovereto has its own gradn scale museum of modern art. The presentation in terms of the architecture, white walls, stencilled texts and so on is the real deal. You could be in MOMA. The quality and interest of the exhibits themselves are bit mixed but overall it's worth a visit, even if the 11 euro entry fee is a little steep. The luggage storage was useful for us (no extra cost).

I am not an expert, but enjoyed very much the pieces on display, the presentations, the descriptions of the historical phases. On top of that, during my visit there were two temporary exhibitions dedicated to Isadora Duncan and to Richard Artschwager. Very well done.

Spent a couple of hours wandering around the impressive structure taking in the permanent and temporary exhibits. We thought the staff were a too numerous and the atmosphere wasn't as relaxing as it should have been. Make sure you read the explanations (displayed in Italian and English) to better understand some of the more abstract pieces.
