We very much enjoyed our tour of the accessible rooms within this palazzo. Domenico, son of the current residents who guided us, made its history come alive. He was knowledgeable and warm and made us feel like personal guests. The rooms themselves are beautiful, especially the floor in the main hall. The view of the cathedral and square are stellar. This tour provided great insight into Ragusa’s rich history. Thank you, Domenico!

We stopped here while walking around Ragusa-Ibla and enjoyed our tour of the palace. We were also able to learn quite a bit of the history of the place and the family as the tour was given by a member of the family. I would recommend adding this to your time in Ragusa-Ibla. There are also lovely views of the square and the Duomo from the palazzo.

If you are in Ragusa Ibla, you should definitely visit this beautiful palace located right in the centre, opposite the cathedral. You will be guided around by the baron's son who is a really great guy, and very funny. Because his family have lived here since the 1850s, he knows the place really well, and you get a lot of little details you would otherwise miss. You'll be amazed from the moment you step through the door into the incredible hallway and courtyard - a very grand entrance. The highlight is definitely the ballroom with its handmade tile floor, painted ceiling and stunning views of the cathedral and square from the balconies. You would never suspect from the street that this building houses such a beautiful home. If you're lucky enough to be in town at the right time (we weren't), this place sometimes hosts aperitifs, dinners and music events. The prices are great, so check their schedule in advance (via facebook) to plan your trip accordingly.

We booked this at the HI, just around the corner where they called the guide, who came in about 15 minutes. Turned out he is the next in line for the title of Baron and the palace. Currently his parents live in a private area of the palace. The tour was of 5 rooms, each more beautiful than the other. It was truly lovely and our host/guide was excellent

We were looking to do something different in Ragusa Ibla. We read the reviews of Palazzo Arezzo and they were right on. The palace has been preserved and maintained with care. The wallpaper and the frescos on the ceiling are original. The owner son Domenico Arezzo was very charming and took his time telling us the family history and answered all of our questions. The ball room is amazing, original hand painted majolica tiles are in perfect condition. The view from the window is stunning, look right into the Piazza Duomo. An amazing place. You have to make an appointment, we contacted Domenico by e mail and he responded quickly. We booked the tour with Aperitif and snacks. We walked by the palace twice. It is between the LaCoste Shop and the Post Office, black door.

I visited Palazzo Arezzi as part of the "A porte aperte" tour that gives entry to private places of historical interest. We were shown the palazzo by the owners' son who gave us a tour in both Italian and English. The palazzo is still inhabited by the family and therefore well kept and frozen in time. Going through the rooms is like being swept into the interiors of the epic drama film "The Leopard" set in Sicily during the unification of Italy in the 1860s!
Well worth a visit!

Thank you Domenico for allowing us into your gorgeous family Palace. To hear the history and background of the home was very interesting. Your family has taken such great care to preserve and protect the original building and contents.
It was just beautiful to see it brilliantly lit up at night.
We thank you for your hospitality as well. We felt we were visiting an old friend and sharing the Sicilian food and Prosecco.

Another stunning building destroyed in the earthquake but rebuilt to perfection. Miss the crowds and visit early, and make sure to take a photo of the church from the ballroom.

I am not sure this tour was worth the money. Super nice guy who belongs to the family, just not sure of the bang for your buck.

This was unexpected. Short tour but will give you an idea of how people lived some time back. A lot of history in this home - calling it a home as his parents still live there in another enclosed area. Reasonable ticket price. The floor ceramic tiles of the main hall is amazing. The Baron is a nice guy too and ready with answers.
