    Immersive archaeological experience
Nora is an important and extensive archaeological area. We went one day on our own and returned the next day, first to do a guided tour of the site with Andrea Lintas, an extremely passionate and knowledgeable guide who has worked at the park for many years. His tour was engaging and he patiently answered our many questions. We especially loved the mosaics and, of course, the historical perspective about the Phoenician and Roman periods. Then we donned VR goggles and got to see what researchers think the site and the buildings looked like in Roman times. It really brought the ruins to life. I would encourage tourists — especially my fellow American travelers — to take advantage of the innovative and meaningful work this park is doing to preserve history. It’s an amazing experience.

    Even more spectacular than Tharros
As it was a bigger place, is better preserved, includes also several mosaics and quute impressive remains of buildings, roads, cloakas, this is even more impressive than Tharros. They are comparable also regarding the istmus location. If you like archeology, a d use imagination to imagine historic life within these places, do not miss any of the two :)

    Interesting but a little limited
Interesting archaeological site showing layout of Roman town with some evidence of previous civilisations. Access is a bit limited at the moment because of the works going on there and so you have to join a tour with a guide (every half hour - probably worth checking in advance which will be in your language), but admission price has been reduced to help make up for this. Worth a visit if you are interested in ancient civilisations, but Su Nuraxi di Barumini is much better IMHO if you are only going to visit one during your stay in Sardinia.

    Best tour guide ever- Andreas!
Our tour guide, Andreas was brilliant. Given the constraints imposed on them I thought all the staff did a phenomenal job making the extraordinary history of the site come alive. You obviously do have to plan your visit at the moment but we loved it. This was our favourite archeological site on Sardinia. Andreas was great!

Beautiful archaeological area a few kilometers from Cagliari. In Nora you can see the excavations that brought to light the remains of the city under Phoenician-Panic and, subsequently, Roman rule.
There are many perfectly preserved mosaics which, framed against the backdrop of the sea, look like a postcard. The site is home to ongoing excavations by 4 different universities, so there are constant new discoveries that make each visit different from the previous ones.
At the reception you can also pay with a debit card and decide whether to visit with the guide, included in the price of entry, or visit the site independently with the help of a map and some display boards. I highly recommend taking the guide because there is no comparison between visiting ruins independently and when you do it with a guide who tells anecdotes and explains everything step by step. We made the visit with Andrea, an exquisite person and a trained, attentive and friendly guide. Andrea is what I call "The tourist guide", a person who is passionate about his work and who manages to convey it to visitors through anecdotes, jokes and clarifications that no map or audio guide can give! By purchasing the ticket, if you wish at the end of the visit, you can also take the visit with a 3D viewer with a supplement and if you are unable to do it on the same day, just come back with the entrance ticket (they recommend calling to book it) and you you will be able to visit with a 3D viewer by paying only the 3D fee and not the entrance ticket.
The site has both parking and a bar and to get there you can enjoy a nice walk or a dip in the sea. The turtle hospital is also nearby.

This is an excavation site and outdoor museum in one. Situated on a hill near Pula it offers spectacular views as well as well preserved ruins of an ancient city. The walkthrough is well organized and informative, the free phone app is quite exhaustive and you can take it at your own pace.
Big thumbs up!

I write this review, even if I usually do not, to suggest to those in the area to pop to visit the archaeological part of Nora. Ticket 8 € and includes the guided tour, which gives added value to what you admire.
We personally were lucky enough to have Andrea L. to accompany us, a super Guide who, with his stories, his accurate explanations made us immerse ourselves in the perfect climate of a Nora of yesteryear, without missing jokes and laughter.
Time has flown and really, much of the credit, is all his.
I work in the archaeological museum of Florence and I know how important it is to 'capture' people's attention to accompany them to imagine life in those ruins.
Beautiful experience.

The Nora site is stupendous and it is fascinating that traces of the Phoenician, Punic and finally Roman ages overlap. The guides are there and they are very prepared! In particular, Andrea was exhaustive and engaging, demonstrating great passion for what he told us. I highly recommend a visit with viewers, because the reconstructions proposed are beautiful and manage to make people understand very effectively what the Nora site was like in the various eras. Seeing the remains again takes on a whole new meaning!

Very disappointed. We are allowed to park and pay for parking and once we arrive we announce that more than half of the site is closed and that the visit must be done at a rush. No explanation in French and little in English. It is really abused and we are still charged 4.50€ per person. Ask before you go because it's frustrating!

We visited the Roman ruins of Nora, at Pula, outside Cagliari with a personal guide called Renato, who was booked via InsideSardinia. He also drove us there from Cagliari, picking us up at our hotel. The site was beautiful in the sunshine, next to the clear blue sea, on a quiet off-peak day, and very serene. Our guide was very experienced and helpful, telling us all about the site, the life and times of the Romans, in English. The site is spread over a large area, and did not have much on-site signage in any language, so a guide is needed. The site also includes a spanish invasion period lighthouse. There is a cafe, gift shop.

The archaeological area of Nora is truly beautiful and interesting to visit if you are in the Pula area.
We booked the tour with a guide (Andrea) I absolutely recommend it otherwise without it it would be too distracting and difficult to understand.
He made us live the whole tour with transport, it felt like we had gone back in time to the Roman and Phoenician times, truly a spectacle like all the scenery on the sea.
Importantly, the closing time is not at 5pm as found online but at 8pm
Maybe it's better to visit it during less hot hours of the day

We took the guided tour of this archaeological jewel and recommend it to everyone. Go and visit Nora and take a guided tour (free included in the ticket, just check the time) it is really worth discovering the secrets of these finds. Various institutions and universities are collaborating to unearth all that remains of the ancient city of Nora, it's fantastic! Our Guide Andrea is a super passionate and competent person who makes the visit pleasant even in the heat!
