lovely building and scenic spot, well worth the walk up. the trompe-l'oeuil has been created by exploiting a curve in the wall that the fresco is painted on. this creates a 3-d effect because the eye reads the wall as flat but when you move...More

About a 1/10 of the way into your hike on the Path of the Gods. Get your camera ready for some pictures inside or out you will not lose here. There was a little grumpy man inside selling drinks and snacks and if you don't...More

Worth seeing. It's not a dome but has some old and typical features and history. Some typical paintings.

I might sound like a bit of a heathen but for me the abandoned monastery takes second place to the views from trail. That said if you are staying in Praiano I would still recommend the jaunt up the hill. There are two ways to...More

This is a great place to stop for a picnic while hiking the Path of the God's. Very quaint and the views are stunning. Take a few minutes to walk through the convento di san domenico while you are there.

We climbed the 1000 steps from Praiano and the views all the way up are breath-taking. Ideal if you want to join up with the Path of the gods walks. They hold concerts outside which must be good but none while we were there.

We walked the Santiero Degli Dei from Praiano to Nocelle and passed this deserted convent on the way. It's a good hike from the town but once there, the views are stunning. The 14th century frescoes and the abandoned cells are worth the hike alone,...More
