3 great sites in one location. Greek, Roman, Early Christian. Beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding countryside.

We arrived at nearly 3 o'clock to visit and were told by a rather arrogant man thatlast entry is at 2 45. We tried to explain that on google it says itcloses later and he remarked that we shouldn't believe everything we read as if we were incompetent. A little leniency would have been appreciated as he could have let us visit a small part but his attitude was not professional. What a pity we will never see it

We got here by bus from Fusaro station. Took a while to find the bus stop, and the tobacconist who was selling tickets could not tell us when the bus would be running. Luckily we did not have to wait long, but the bus has no number or destination at the front, so you just have to stick your hand out when something looking like a little bus comes along. There is an entrance gate into Cumae right next to the bus stop, but this is closed as is the one a bit further up the hill, but just keep going and you finally come to the entrance. We loved the site, especially Sybilla's cave, but it is worth climbing to the very top to the Temple of Jupiter. Stunning views along the coast as you walk around. Next to the bus stop there is a lovely little bar whose owner will alert you when the bus is coming.

but more so if you like ancient history although the coastal views are very scenic. Slightly slow getting there by public transport and more information in English on site would be useful so take your own guidebook for the full benefit

just like Virgil described! Never crowded--and shows how Roman engineering still stands. Make sure you drive through the old Arch on the way
