It's all about the setting.

Yes this beach has pebbles and it can get busy especially on the weekend. However the views are simply breathtaking. The waters are calm so you can just splash about in the water.

Get your feet ready for this beautiful stone beach and jump into the turquoise water of the Amalfi Coast. Can't beat the views of this stunning place, great access to restaurants and activities available for you if you want to do more than swim and people watch- a must!

The beach was a great place to relax and enjoy the weather. The beach is composed of small, rounded stones like those used in massage. Half the beach is public, the other half private where you pay to rent beach chairs with umbrella.

Thanks to volcano activity in earlier times ( Vesuvio) the sand on the beach is black. But the vibrations are good, many young people. Of course VERYcrowded in July and August as is the whole Amalfi coast. Best time to visit: spring and autumn

We had a private driver who took us along the Amalfi coast on a day trip. We were so fortunate that Michael was a local and gave us the most amazing tour. Positano was one of the places that he recommended that we stop off at but firstly, he stopped on a lay by in the road so that we... More

We wandered down through the charming streets of Positano and were really impressed when we reached the beach. The villas seemed to reach the sky as they clung to the rocks surrounding Positano and if you turned around you looked out on the boats gently bobbing up and down on the Tyrrhenian Sea. We were there in October and it... More

The main beach in Positano. A postcard setting with the sea in front of you and surrounded on all other sides by the picturesque, colourful building-lined cliffs. Steps to lots of restaurants, hotels and shops. A wonderful experience!

It's definitely takes some effort to get to this beach but it's worth every step in my opinion. The walk is beautiful and takes you along the coastline before arriving at the little cove of a beach. If you're expecting a sand beach you'll be surprised but that is part of the charm to me - something different than what... More

So we live in southern California so there are lots of beaches with nice sand, big waves, and they are easy to visit with plenty of parking. The Positano beach is picturesque but it is a royal pain to get there (walking down and up steep hills or taking a tram, after finding a way to get to Positano) and... More

Positano is in the southern Italy, there is a beautiful coastline. It is very different if you compare to other city in Italy. There are just a few people, they live on the mountain and near the sea. This is like a dream place, beach and sunshine. This place is isolated to the world, although there are many tourists in... More
